Double life
by Esmeralda001 inis there a way i can successfully live a double life?
don't get me wrong, i'm not trying to get engaged in activities that are condemnable according to the *bible* (not the *wt*) standards.
i figured that the only way i can get the brothers and sisters to leave me along is by pretending that i am an unemployed drop out.

That shit was wack. Omg. I'm having second thoughts about going to the first clam. I can't sit and listen to that with out busting up. Straight awful. Maybe now that the gb are about to cash in they want to run everyone off so they can spend the money in peace. -

Have we become what we despise so much?
by Tenacious inthe majority of members who tend to join this forum have been hurt possibly even traumatized sometimes to the point of wanting to end their lives.
upon joining the forum, new members are welcomed with open arms, welcome messages start pouring in, "likes" are freely given, a false sense of security is promoted where a member is free to speak his mind without having to worry about the wt gestapo.
again, similar to how potential converts are welcomed and "love bombed" upon entering a kh for the first time.

I often see quite a lot of condescending patriarchy from some of the guys on this site - but I understand where this is coming from - humiliation I think - so in order to feel better they have to put down those whom they consider weaker
I don't see it this way. Any one who has been a JW and have woken up, are bad idea vigilantes. We at one time would allow emotion or fear dictate our actions, fear of dying at Armageddon, fear of disappointing our family. Being awake you may be less afraid of peoples feelings especially when the actual truth is at stake. Making concessions for "feelings" got a lot of us in this mess in the first place.

General health after learning TTATT
by Darkknight757 in4 months ago i was conducting the watchtower study along with a long list of responsibilities that come with being an elder in a very goofy congregation.
during this time my health was going down hill.
i've always had a low blood pressure,(102/65 or abouts) but for the past year it had creeped up to 135/90 range.. so 2 months ago after learning ttatt, i'm still considered an elder because the brothers won't let me step down, but i haven't done anything in that time except comment once at a meeting a few weeks ago.

Do you think as an inactive one, I will be allowed to see the new workbook?
Absolutely! they are desperate to make inactive ones come back to their sinking ship.
Now we have a calendar of dogs from a shelter that need homes that she looks at constantly.
Much better, a cause I am way more passionate about than JW.bullshite

Is the shunning policy causing a financial crisis?
by paul from cleveland ini wonder how many active members would like to leave but are held hostage by the shunning policy?
it's probably a very large number and growing every day.
the membership is artificially larger then it would otherwise be.

The JW bubble
Sort of like the real estate crisis where the banks weren't reporting the millions of houses going into foreclosure.
No one had a real idea how many were out of the game until the bubble popped then everyone realized what was going on.
JW religion has some kind of bubble in it. Being held together by the control factor.

Hello, this is my first post
by noralee inhello, this is my first post, i would like to introduce myself and say thank you to every one on this forum, you have been a lifeline to me these last few years.. i had been a jw for 30 years when i walked away a few years ago disgusted by the treatment victims of child abuse, domestic abuse and rape receive from the wtbts.. at first i thought it was a local problem, elders personal opinions, the way they handled the situations, imperfect men etc., until i checked out jehovahs witnesses and child abuse/domestic abuse online.
that's when i realized they had the same modus operandi worldwide.
that led me here, tbuo this forum, and then to crisis of conscience, jw facts, watchtower documents, jw survey, old watchtower literature and cd s, reading a couple of steve hassans books, and more recently exiting the jw cult.. the feelings of shock, betrayal, anger at the wtbts, angry with myself for being so gullible, depression, reflection, loneliness, have taken their toll.

I really don't look forward to any of it but I do like observing the downtrend of this organization. So for that I will suffer to say I was there
