lf evolution is true then doesnt it make sense that other life forms exist on far away planets.?
by atomant injust thought ld throw it out there for discussion.lf we evolved from nothing doesnt it stand to reason that other life forms also evolved from nothing?l mean lets face it time is infinite.
so given enough time its possible for anything to happen isnt it?

Yes. Think about our planet for a second. It has been through 5 big time mass extinction events. I encourage anyone to read about these. It will give you and interesting perspective on the complicated life of a planet like ours. It may open your mind too to how life could be going through the same process over billions of years in probably countless other corners of the universe. -

"New light"?
by winstonchurchill inhttps://www.jw.org/en/publications/magazines/watchtower-study-june-2016/man-with-inkhorn/.
so i guess baptism is no longer the "mark for survival".. as a matter of fact, that key aspect of the 'old light' is not even acknowledged in this article.. they are just publishing new understanding without even bothering to explain the full extent of the change, hoping nobody will remember how it was... and they may be right about that..

Why Do Intelligent People Believe in God?
by cantleave inone of the most common thing thrown at atheists is - lots of intelligent people believe in god.
this darkmatter 2525's video is an excellent explanation as to why very logical people possess religious belief systems.. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y201qzddzbg.

Atheism is a lack of belief in "God" not a claim that there isn't one. (for every flipping out).
Pretty safe to day the abrahamic tyrant-god of the OT as well as most myths are not real. Beyond that what is there to believe in??? You WANT to believe. And that's fine for you, so relax.
It takes a lot of balls to admit that your belief is really just a desire to believe.

Do you still believe in God?
by FormerlySandL ini never thought i would admit it, but i don't.
i might superstitiously have some kind of doubt but digging a bit deeper in my heart i really don't believe in god.
as a human i could never just sit and watch people be tortured, live years of abuse, suffer from illness and disabilities and all the other awful things people have to endure day after day without doing something about it.

I think I have removed the word belief entirely from my life. I try to go these days by what I have actually experienced.
agree 100% I feel that word is abused and misused. "wanting to believe" is probably what should be used far more often. After being grilled by in family over and and over and over "what do you believe!" "what do you believe!!" "what do you believe!!!!!" I finally came to the conclusion that what you believe or want to believe (that can't be proven) is personal. So is any believe a say theistic person can't handle. I am not here to preach and change their belief, I will call BS "BS" if asked.
I sum up belief this way: "I believe what I can prove to be true" the end.

I never thought I would admit it, but I don't.
Its a liberating feeling isn't it?.
There will always be things we don't understand (yet), but to superstitiously label them all with 'God' is a mistake.
& Acts5v29, with all due respect, stop reading the Goat Herder's Guide to the galaxy and pick up some other books, you have the abrahamic mind virus...bad

If your Absence doesn't affect them, then your Presence never mattered!
by stuckinarut2 inwhat a powerful quote!.
"if your absence doesn't affect them, then your presence never mattered.".
how true!

But this is not a thread to moan about being neglected...it is actually a powerfully refreshing thread that helps us to see reality, and move forward with confidence in living a real life by making REAL friends.
100% agree!

Can any believer make a case for the superiority of faith over knowledge?
by Half banana ini find it curious why so many here on this site, in the face of factual evidence for things such as evolution and the impossibility for anyone to make a coherent interpretation for the bible, would still prefer faith to knowledge?.
can any believer attempt a defence of this position?.

short answer
most people don't really want the truth, they just want reassurance that what they believe is the truth
