  freemindfade: I have tried to make exactly that distinction (a moderate Muslim vs. an Islamist, moderate Islam vs. Islamism) for a week on this forum and I get called a left-winger every time; be careful!

  It's a tough subject. The moderates have a huge role in insulating the radical fundamentalists IMO. This obsession we have created with not criticizing Islam is protecting the fundamentalists. So I understand the slippery slope.

  Case and point, Maajid Nawaz, someone who's activism (much like an exjw activist, or a leah remini with Scientology), his voice could go a long way in changing the religion, but he is silenced by who? Extremists? no by moderates, and institutions in America. He has been put on the SPLC list of anti-islamic extremists... that is insane! He is also not welcome to speak on CNN as far as I know, can't confirm it, but I know he is not liked.

  So while there is a difference between a 'Muslim' and an 'Islamist' its time the moderates step up to clean their own house, and they do that by allowing the religion to be subject to criticism, satire and free speech.

  I completely agree with. Islam as it is practiced in e.g. Saudi Arabia is not compatible with western values at all.

  I think it's important to recognize a difference between someone claiming to be a Muslim, and an Islamist.

  I think there are Muslims detached from the Islamic political ideology, but not many coming from Syria, Iraq and so on that lived under the theocracy.

  I almost think it's like someone who studies with JWs, or was raised as one, but never got baptized, then someone asks them their religion, and they say JW, they aren't really deep in fundamentalist jws.

  What is being missed is that any comparison of Sweden and the US has to take into account that relative to Sweden the US hardly takes in refugees at all.

  That is true. I agree.

  I think the reality of failed integration (which I personally feel has more to do with Islam than any other factor) is something to consider regardless of the amount of the immigrants. I saw one statistic that out of 163,000 asylum seekers only around 500 are employed. This can happen for a number of reasons, but I also still firmly believe many of these individuals are not looking to mix with societies they consider infidels.

  America allows immigration, America is a nation OF immigrants, we are not anti-imigrant. When we show concern about two hot topics in this election:

  1. Undocumented immigrants
  2. Refugees

  We are not dismissing immigration.

  I am just going to throw this out there, and it's gonna get all kinds of hate, and reason why I am wrong, but because of the person I am I wonder something about these refugees. Why not fight for your god damn country? Maybe it's an American rebellious asshole thing, but rise the f-ck up and handle your business.

  There are certainly a lot of them? No?

  Anyway my biggest point is not crime statistics or numbers, but the reality that people who hold on to Islam as a religion, PLUS as a political, life permitting ideology to cult-like levels, are not going to have peaceful integration. No matter how big or small. I lived in a neighborhood in NYC that had a huge population of Arab immigrants, Muslim and Christian. I can tell you from first-hand experience they DO NOT integrate the same, same people, same race, different religion, night and day.

  Having lived that and seeing it with your own eyes, they way they treat women IN AMERICA, it's not the granola, utopian bullshit illiberals are portraying at women's marches and protests (riots). It's just not. Like I said, if Islam was a club you would find those that belong despicable, but it's not, its a religion... full of dangerous ideas.

  Sweden is a champion of taking in asylum seekers, and a complete failure at integrating them, probably because of biting off more than they can chew, and because Islamists don't integrate with the enemy. So do you blame Sweden for the failed integration???

  Is it fair to say that trump could be correct in that it's not what Sweden expected as far a integration into society goes?

  What I find interesting from many different things I have heard, is that the migrants feel discriminated against, but on the other side of the coin (which I put far more weight in) they don't try to integrate with society. A very small percentage work, and they still hold to their ideas like Sharia that keep them isolated.

  Face it, if Islam was a social club instead of fucking religion, you would be disgusted by anyone who belonged to it.

  I don't have any references right now, but I have read several things stating the while Sweden leads Europe in taking in asylum seekers, the intigration has actually been a total failure

  This is all like when Trump made the "2nd amendment folks" comment back during the campaign and the MSM immediately spun it as an assassination suggestion towards Clinton or Supreme Court judges. If you just listen to the news it's easy to form a quick (emotional) opinion, then when you realize the actual context that's not what he was talking about, just like this he was not talking about a terrorist attack, its another MSM spin.

  This is the problem with everything coming out of the Mainstreams mouth right now. The real issues or problems that could get reported about trump are lost in a quagmire of hyperventilation over every breath he takes and what they try to suggest it means. It's exhausting and to people willing to take pause and filter out the spin, it's making the media look worse and trump look more like the populist hero he has been made out to seem.

  The truth is the mainstream media is small dying elite group, and they are full on attacking any kind of "populist" figures that threaten their cozy little club. Like Trump and like pewdiepie. I posted an extensive video about this earlier which I am sure no one watched because its too much work.

  Ask yourself why a conservative propaganda machine like Fox is now the only place certain liberals can speak because they have been effectively shunned by the left media. How freaking insane is that? How is classical liberalism and free speech becoming "conservative"

  I have no doubt certain leaders and news groups in europe are actively trying to obscure any migrant issues. After watching the Obama be a complete jackass moron and never be able to say "radical ISLAM" or Hillary after the pulse shooting, a homophobic jihad turned into a gun control issue... WAKE UP
