i will certainly look at this with interest but i note that Jesus did not say what the betrayers motives were. Could Judas of done this thinking it wasnt going to happen but it was him all along?

The Gospel of Judas
by James Free injudas iscariot's reputation as one of the most notorious villains in history could be thrown into doubt with the release of an ancient text on thursday.
the gospel of judas, a papyrus document from the 3rd or 4th century ad, tells the story of jesus' death from the fallen disciple's point of view.
alleged to be a copy of an even older text, it casts judas as a benevolent figure, helping jesus to save mankind.

I too, need guidance
by Wineskin Cowboy ini am a newb here and have spent some time considering the effect on impressionable minds of the bizarre cult that is the jay dub "religion".
mind you, i could be said to have a flea in my ear.. strange coincidence that i should not only be in the same state( geographically, not mind) and city as the esteemed duality known as dr jekyll, but living a mere 4 houses away from a kingdom hall actually "quick built" by my deeply disturbed ex father in law and his young pioneer daughter whom i was silly enough to marry.. i believe that it is one of life's great ironies that the joyless f**ks come out to play on memorial night when there is always a full moon.
i have always been tempted to eat the effing wafers and howl my annointedness at it.. and don't get me started on the whole "translation from original greek and aramaic texts" thing done by a committee of elders who spoke neither greek nor aramaic.. more later..

Wonder why
by KW13 in.
a friend of mine (a jw) has started having a regular bible study with my stepdad.
there are many people in the hall that would be better and to be honest, i don't think he likes stepdad all that much.... is this a way to try and get me in again you think?

Worst/strangest bookstudy group
by Virgochik inok, i was reading the "worst bookstudy book" thread, and it got me thinking about the worst book study groups i went to.
once, my dad was study conductor and the study was held in an elderly sister's home.
there was antique furniture and doilies on the tables.

We had the study at a few different places. i hated it when it was at our house, the excitement wore off after we realised people liked to venture in different rooms. it got annoying.

i've seen this lots at assemblies etc but we do have a local nodder; we call her bonnie bobble-head cuz she reminds me and the kids of the bobble-heads for car dashes.

Is this a way to try and get me in again you think? I am wondering if he intends to invite me to join in sometime or discuss me with stepdad, maybe i am just paranoid.
