  1939 Booklet

  i just received a box of old literature and in it is a booklet dated 1939 and written in a foreign language.

  i have been unable to come up with what language or any translation of it from the translator sources i have, even though it looks norwegian to me.

  it is titled "herredommet og freden.

  JWs Could Never Steal This Feeling

  i have stated in other posts that i am a vietnam veteran.

  when studying, i was told how "stupid" i was for going off to that war long ago.

  even though i was often made to feel less a person because of my military service, i still was baptized and eventually, saw the light and left the borg.. i also belong to a yahoo message group comprised of fellow veterans that i served with long ago.

  two elderly ladies are sitting on the front porch, doing nothing.

  one lady turns and asks, "do you still get horny?

  " the other replies, "oh sure i do.

  McDonalds Prohibited?

  given how the org went after tobacco in the late sixties, resulting in it's total prohibition in the early seventies, based on the health communities claims of how bad it was destroying the body (a claim not disputed by me) and how they made it a disfellowshipping offense to smoke, chew or otherwise use tobacco, i wonder if they will now ban eating at mcdonalds?.

  there is a group out there of health professionals (or claimed) that wish to heavily tax mcdonalds and other so called junk food places.

  the taxes would be used to treat all the millions of people who are afflicted with the dreaded disease of obesity and to combat the rising costs of treating these poor misguided individuals that have been led astray, thinking they were getting healthy food at the loacl greasy pits.. will the elders start smelling everyone's breath upon entry to the kingdom halls for tell tale signs of mustard and pickles?

  Getting "Shined On" by the Watchtower

  as i saw it then and see it now, i leveled charges of inappropriate conduct against the elders at this congregation, yet, the elders seem to be the only ones the society was concerned with talking to.

  i don't consider it a fair or unbiased investigation if you only talk to one side.. this was the only communication i received from the society on this matter.

  not even a phone call.

  Judicial Hearing Notification

  in other threads i have outlined when two elders came out to my house to provoke a situation to have reason to df me.

  below is a copy of the certified letter i received about two weeks after i threww the two elders out of my house, followed by my reply to the secretary, who is also the elder that instigated the the situation as well as the chair of the judicial hearing they tried to form.. i have edited out personal information as well as his signature, since my wife is still an active dub and has enough trouble with them as it is.

  A Good and Decent Elder?

  i was wondering if any of the rest of you ever knkew an elder who you considered to be a good elder, one that was really into the bible more so than the watchtower and who actually took his eldership seriously enough to actually care about the flock more than himself?

  i knew one.. he would spend all his spare time studying the bible and gave pretty good talks.

  he was actually there any time someone needed him.

  Hello To All

  as you can tell, i am another newbie, so i thought i would introduce myself.

  i have been quietly reading the posts for some time now and thought it time to join in.. i am a 53 year old grandpa (neither daughter or their husbands are jw) married to jw woman with three kids, ages 15, 16, 17. therein lies the source of my discourgement and subsequent disassociation from the jws.

  i outlined my involvement with the jws in my profile, if any are interested.
