Welcome I must say.
When I first visited this site the impression I got was that it was for discussions about Jehovah Witness' faith. I thought that there would be more JWs on this board not ex JWs.

when i eat breakfast, i usually have one of three things, something with eggs, something sweet or just the coffee!
how much of what i injest for the start of my day is controlled by the culture i live in and the habits i have come to consider "normal"?
I eat things like:
bread and cheese, butter, jam, ham, sausages,
pancakes
burgers
roti and bodi, ochro, potato, plaitain, baigan, tomato choka
I drink things like:
tea - milo, ovaltine, lipton, dilma, cadbury's chocolate

the catholic/orthodox believe that she never had sex with her husband and poor joseph had to spend the rest of his life in an unconsummated marriage unable to sleep with his wife.
i find this unlikely that such a demand was imposed on him and there is the well known mention of jesus's brothers.

"the man shouted 'god will save me, if he exists', lowered himself by a rope into the enclosure, took his shoes off and went up to the lions," the official said.. "a lioness went straight for him, knocked him down and severed his carotid artery.".
This shows that God does exist because the man is foolish.
Allow me to explain and rephrase this sentence:
Someone posted earlier that one should not tempt the Lord thy God which is exactly what this foolish man was trying to accomplish, hence God would not be tempted into saving this man just like that. Besides it's more like saying, "God if you are real you wouldn't let me kill myself!" He did not even believe in God.
God gives us the freedom to make choices, however when we chose the way of the Lord you will be rewarded with eternal life. (life after death)

But, God could have stepped in if he wanted to now couldnt he?
This man had no right to do what he did to prove that God exists. It's like asking God to make magic ----- and presto!
Why should God be blamed for this man's stupidity? The devil tempted this man to do that and he got mauled. The devil is happy. God asks us to be wise and resit the devil.

the story goes that god provided the rainbow as a symbol of his promise to never again destroy the world by flood.. noah and his family saw the rainbow after they left the ark.
after the waters had receeded.
after it had stopped raining for months.... yet a rainbow is simply sunlight spread out into its spectrum of colors and diverted to the eye of the observer by water droplets.
I don't understand the reason for this thread. How does the a rainbow disprove the flood? What evidence do you have or what is your arguement for this? You explain how light is divided through water droplets and then present some quotations about the flood and the rainbow, but I fail to see a disproving of it. Sorry.
