  Hi, I think Agapa was kidding when he called MidwichCuckoo cynical. I read it as McW saying 'Call me cynical' and then agapa saying 'your cynical' - you know like when someone says 'call me a taxi' and they say 'you're a taxi'. Well thats how I read it anyway. :\

  Poppers - They do the field service for a certain amount of hours a month - I don't know how many but you can't have a full time job if you're a pioneer.

  There were 2 in my congregation. Husband and wife, I guess their young child was a pioneer also being as he would have to go with them.

  i've noticed that there are certain songs, movies, memories, etc that make me sad.

  there is even a category of music we call "sad songs".

  it seems obvious that we would never listen to something that makes us sad.

  I do it to myself aswell, intentionally wallow in it. I remember someone telling me that it makes you feel alive sometimes just to feel a strong emotion even if its a negative one.

  Sometime last year there was a news piece (UK) about a man who had contracted the hiv virus from his partner, a while later during tests they said the virus was not present and he tested hiv negative. They thought at first that maybe the initial testing was incorrect. The man believed he had the virus so he continued to sleep with his parner unprotected so its highly likely that he would have caught it anyway but confusingly enough he is now negative.

  I bought the story up on field service one day saying how great it must be for the man to have such a weight lifted. The response I got was kind of icy and they went quiet. I guessed it was because they thought such blessings shouldn't happen to worldly people.

  Imagine the song and dance they would have made about it if he was a jw.

  How do you answer this question??

  ok, i'm now da'd as many of you already know.

  it's so fresh that my stomach turns everytime the subject comes up about religion.

  however, something that does puzzle me a bit.......is how do you answer people when they ask you the question "what religion are you?
