lol @Mary - I'd never thought of that, what on earth could they do to help.
Brilliant idea Lawrence, you'll have to let me know how you got on.
it must be white smoke time shortly at brooklyn , following the death of 2 members in the last year.. by all accounts , there can only be 7 active members....... herd (71 years old) , jackson (51) , lett (57) , losch (63) , morris (56) , pierce (71) and splane (62).. the other 3 are all very aged.
barber (101) is confined to bed , jaracz is in his eighties and (allegedly) has heart trouble and a friend who met jack barr (now 93 years old) in the london bethel this year reckoned that this would be the last time he would be travelling over to the uk as he is very , very frail now.. with new, "grafted in" anointed ones very thin on the ground (and most regarded as certifiable by the r & f) , it is increasingly difficult for the gb to constantly appoint credible new members every few years.
for years now , the wts has increasingly been talking up the growing influence the non-anointed ones (nethinim , "chieftain class etc) are having in wts affairs - is it now the time for "new light"?

Lawrence - You may need the candles as after they let you in, you will be led down to the cellar where they keep the faithful and discreet slave. He is a big guy and quite unfortunate looking. He is very clumsy so they have had to chain him. Remember not to stare as he can't help it.

I'll represent you. I rang them and said that you were nice. They want you to go and see them on Friday at 10am. The password is 'chipsticks'. Just shout it out really loud when you get there and they'll let you in.
Oh I see, Sorry. I saw that explanation too but thought it must have been the other one. As in the elders or something. oops! I noticed I had forgotten to put a question mark at the end aswell so it looks more like a statement. Oh well, just ignore me and hopefully I'll go away.

Hi, I was told last year by my study conductor that the annointed GB members will still be alive when Armageddon comes in order to aid and guide us through the tribulation. Being as they are all old (except those couple of younger ones) this made everyone feel it will be 10 years away max. Is this a common teaching or just my mad 'friend'?
I looked up the word 'bovine' and it said a slow person who is dull-witted.
to all of you who know what it is to miss a loved pet.. i never knew in all my jdubb years that it can hurt so much when an animal dies.
i never knew that a man could get attached to a cat.
when i was a dubb i would not allow the kids to have a housepet 'cause then you couldn't spend as much time in service.
Am really sorry Andy :(
last month, my husband and i went on holiday with my family and stayed in a big house in the norfolk countryside.
the couple who owned the house couldn't afford the upkeep but didn't want to sell.
they made one of the barns habitable for themselves and then rented the house out for holidays.

The couple who owned the house couldn't afford the upkeep but didn't want to sell. They made one of the barns habitable for themselves and then rented the house out for holidays.
A lot of their belongings were still kept in the house. I noticed that they were into their spiritism. There were so many books on ghosts, satanism and witchcraft, ornaments and pictures too.
There were many statues outside the building and the one at the front door was of the devil doing something rude with a young woman.
It made me wonder what a jw would do if they found their holiday home full of those things. Do you think they would have to leave?
My friend got really upset and embarrassed as during the group before the field service, the elder was saying how it is inappropriate to wear scarfs if you are doing the business territory (which we were doing). She was wearing a scarf but I thought she looked really smart. We were doing RVs only that mainly consisted of barber shops and market stalls.
She was so upset and felt so bad that we didn't stay out long. The elder and his wife got wind of her upset and started bombarding both her and myself with phonecalls and text messages trying to find out was what was wrong.
The elder's wife finally got through to me and I told her. She got very cross and said that you can't argue with the society. I got the feeling she was taking it out on me and probably won't say a word to my friend.
It was as though they first wanted to find out who was at fault rather then the simple fact that someone was upset and a few kind words or an apology would have sorted that, even if they felt they weren't in the wrong.
The outcome was that nothing was said to my friend and the elder concerned was only worried about others thinking he was falling out with people.
The next local needs talk, the PO (very good friends with the elder in question) spoke to the congregation on how true christians will always accept council with unquestioning obedience, he looked straight at my friend and said, we only do it cos we love you and care for your wellfare!
All this over a scarf. I was so disturbed by the whole charade. I couldn't believe the way they dealt with things. I wondered what happened when it was something serious. :(
do you use it anymore?
do you care?
do you cringe when you hear it?
I must admit, I do cringe a bit when I hear it or say it. I remember feeling that way when I was in the 'truth' aswell, especially when the kiddies would answer up.... 'because we love jeeeeehooooooovah!' That used to make me feel really on edge. <shrugs>
