Meth is an epidemic that is ravaging the united states. You wouldn't believe how many lives it is affecting. I lived with some recovering meth addicts in Portland. I believe when I was there Portland was at that time the meth capital, I couldn't go through downtown without being asked whether I was "looking" or not. Kids at 15, 16 look sickly and completely distraught. Meth kills. When I lived in Venice Beach a next door neighboor cooked his own meth he eventually died. Stay away from the shit. Jonathan

When I was 16 I was a pioneer and I was a very happy person. I loved it. But I believed I was helping people and doing a great work that meant something. I regret that that year was spent that way now. But Yeah I really loved it. Jonathan

Did you "cry" when the JW's elders Disfellowshipped or Disassociated you?
by booker-t inmy niece who is 19 and involved with a "married" man had to meet with her jw's elders last week.
she was terrified because the elders have told her time and time again to get rid of her "married" boyfriend but she refused.
she is head over heels in love with the guy.

This is the first time I had come across this syndrome and the symptoms correlate exactly to what I have been going through. Here is a link briefly describing it: http://www.refocus.org/postcult.html There are also other pages describing how you go through 3 different stages. The third being eventually acceptance and creating personal dreams. There is a lady in Australia who was a former witness who has a whole website, programs and some books I believe on the subject. I suffer from this syndrome. Was wondering if anyone else has heard of this or feel they suffer from it as well. Peace, Jonathan

for the DF'd: did you confess or were you ratted out?
by kid-A inlooking back at the 10 or so cases of disfellowshipping i recall, i think only 1 was due to the orwellian borg spy system.
he was ratted out.. all the other cases were actually "confessions" by people that otherwise would have gotten away with it.
i am wondering is these percentages.

I confessed - I was 19 - I wanted them to know I was out there having sex, doing drugs and doing all those other things I wasn't suppose to.

My first year after being disfellowshiped - I completely viewed there decision as in their minds the best thing for me. The perfect version of tough love - I chose my way they chose theres. It wasn't till everything fell apart in my life and I lost everything at the end of that year and my family who didn't talk to me let me becoming practically homeless and almost lose my life before I started thinking more about this whole thing. I remember looking up in their insight book then disfellowshiping and realized not once did it not mention that it was for the good of the person once - like they told me when they met with me. It described the individual as a disease to keep away from the congregation. So I am a disease - I think different, I dress different, I talk different, and I act different, I am a sinner. Disfellowshiping has ruined my life completely. It had destroyed my relationships with my entire family and all my friends and has deeply scarred me emotionally. Disfellowshiping is inhuman, and although the united states allows freedom of religion - this practice should be considered unlawful - the damage done to the individual is vicious, cruel and absolutely unneccesary. I think for me it's even more ridiculous because I was allowed to get baptised at 12 years old. How can someone allow a 12 year old to make a decision that carries so much weight. Disfellowshiping Should Not Be Allowed To Exist! It is Evil! Jonathan
