  What did you take with you when you left the organization?

  leaving the organization, it is like packing for a journey you can choose what you take with you, and what you leave behind (other than people).

  there are things i chose to take with me.

  for example, i have used the sales training to my advantage over the years.

  Birthdays banned in 1951?

  just want to share what i've uncovered on this and verify my conclusion!.

  it was my impression that birthdays were banned shortly after christmas was in 1926. the proclaimers book is very vague about this, implying that the ban shortly followed the christmas ban.

  i searched the 1940s watchtower magazines and uncovered this blurb in the jan 1, 1940 watchtower, p. 16, under "field experiences": cleveland, ohio: "pardon me for intruding on your precious time, but i just cant help letting you know how much i appreciate the phonograph which came to me on the morning after the 8th, which was my 80th birthday.

  Yeah, really!! Not to change the subject, but back to the brothers and elders partying, it's ok to drink yourself stupid, but don't smoke a cigarette which doesn't effect you when you drive or anything else for that matter!

  Yes, they are out preaching to save their own life. And most definitely a cult. What cracks me up is how right after they go out and preach, they go to someone's house, or a bar, and get snockered drunk, and start using every four letter word in the book.
