The only thing better than the weekend you described, is when you can experience without any of the guilt that many feel when they first leave.

The Jehovahs Witness family weekend
by jambon1 inhaving been out of the organisation for over 4 years and having finally released my kids from the hellish existance that is life as a jw, it struck me today how enjoyable our weekends are in comparison to when we were jw's.. the weekends are vital for us just now.
my wife doesn't work but i work full time from very early in the morning.
i don't get to see my beutiful children in the morning during the week.

I will write down questions and start asking JW's for answers.
by XPeterX inshould i try it?questions about dates,gb policy,history of the org.
etc.i think i will confuse them and surprise them a lot (especially the elders)..

The final step to grasping truth is the ability to logically present it back to someone else. If you received and achieved the concrete evidence you sought, you should be able to present the evidence to prove your conclusion. This would help you work out and solidly prove the data to your self and would be extremely kind to the silent lurkers who likely have been following this thread. That final exercise would also show respect to the many reallife people who took time out of their day to share the info they found beneficial.
I am not conviced that you honestly researched the subject. Nor does it appear that you seriously considered any of the information presented to you.
In the several years I have been here, I have seen many threads on this subject. Many are linked in this thread and many are not. Regardless, after doing such thorough research, I cannot recall ONE initiater of this topic to have ever so flippantly dismissed the issue.
It's almost as if you saw that real reasoning is required to consider and evaluate the information presented and, sensing impending cognitive dissonance, you chose to fall back on one lone poster who agrees with you, take that as 'proof positive', and recoil back in your playpen with your security blanket and thumb secure in your mouth while you rock back and forth muttering "I just know the date, I just know the date."
So much for concrete evidence.

I'm glad my children don't have to grow up being afraid of cupcakes
by Ilovebirthdays inyesterday, i brought a batch of cupcakes to my son's school.
in passing them out, i started to give one to one of the children, who was a jw.
he immediately started freaking out and screaming "no thank you" over and over.

Forgot to mention, about 2 years ago I attended a JW memorial service for a long-time witness. The family had also printed up a little 4-page brochure with a couple of photos and brief stats of her life and several scriptures.
Some do, some don't.
