OMG! I just remembered one more favorite *first* on JWD/JWN.
Sorry to be an attention whore but someone just has to post this one:
http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/46/1/Welcome
Classic absolute first, virgin, opening post from Simon - when he was still an active witness.
Just don't want to take the chance that Simon does not post it himself. It's really too good to miss.
-Aude. (I'll stop now. )
i don't usually post regarding my personal relationship, but i need some help.. i've been married for 20+ years (married young, both of us raised as witnesses), and my wife and i have kids.
my wife feels like i've disappointed her, made a fool of her, and betrayed her when i stopped being a witness.
other than the witness-thing we seem to have a pretty good marriage, but she can't get over the fact that i'm never going to be a witness again.
She is asking for your very soul.
Profoundly Purps.

My very first post on my *first* JWD account.
http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/forum/tech-support/81295/1/Tech-Help-Access-Denied
I was terrified of all the apostates but was engrossed in reading a thead by Dogpatch that got pulled while I was going to the next page. I tried to just slough it off. Walked away from the computer but *really* wanted to read the rest of the article. Apparently one of the mods had pulled it and I kept getting error message with a logon screen. So I joined just to finish reading comments on the article! I still remember wiping my sweaty palms on my thighs and waving both my hands to dry them off~!!
Little known fact: My first alias on my first JWD account was 'I_Dare'. Wasn't creative enough to think up anything better. Didn't want to give any clue about my identity. I just kept staring at the registration screen and wiping my sweaty palms thinking I really should just turn off the computer and do something else. It felt like such a DANGEROUS step - to register on what I realized was an apostate site. I really should not *dare* to read it, let alone *join*. Well, apparently I *did* dare. And that was my first alias: I_Dare. A few days later I learned the term 'Aude Sapere' and Simon was gracious enough to change it for me. Thank you, Simon!
Here is first post with my *second* JWD account. I created a new one because I lost my passcode when I moved my residence. It's pretty lame that my first post on my 2nd account is also a plea for 'Tech Support'!

Can we post other people's first posts that are memorable to us?
Here are 3 that stand out to me. (There is another very recent one but I don't want to link to that person just yet without their permission.)
#1. This little gem from LeftBehind:
http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/102665/1/Something-I-want-to-tell-you-apostates
[After you read the venom on that first thread, take a look at the subsequent threads started by LeftBehind: http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/member/20815/started/1 ]
#2. From Confession (scroll down towards the bottom of the first page to find his very first post on Sandy's thread):
http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/watchtower/beliefs/72949/1/NEW-LIGHT
The very first line in his very first post: "I too am keenly interested in this--and only this question..." (emphasis by Aude)
He later told me that what he meant is that he didn't want to get sucked into apostate agendas. Just wanted the one subject, please!
Well, most of us know how *that* went because it happened to us too!
#3. From the infamous fullofdoubtnow.

To those who witnessed the drama, here is quick review:
-Aude (of the 'Lame Virgin Post Class'. My posts were so lame I felt compelled to share much more interesting ones!)
after much deliberation, i decided to go "out" at the end of a public talk.
it didn't go down too well, but at least i was able to give some of my reasons for leaving.. i've put some of the details on my homepage.
i'll update it more when i get the time and the strength.
Found the link to LittleToe's Profile page:
http://www.angelfire.com/trek/littletoe/Profile.html
The profile is very outdated and I'm not sure if the audio works (I'm having trouble opening the .wav file) but the transcript and other details are easy to see and read.
I miss his updates. Wonder how he and Xena are doing now...

WOW speechless and priceless with the inner strength to accomplish this feat.
Feat. LittleToe. There's an obvious joke there.
One of my favorite xjw stories. This and Seven006's 2-week Consulting Trip at Bethel were the ones that snapped me out of my JW fog.
I can't find the link to the audio or the transcript. Maybe someone else can provide link?
-Aude.
hi folks.
i wondered if any of you ex elders can help me to figure out what my status is and therefore how to log out from the borg.
i was baptized at 15, faded at 18. never heard anything from the elders after their first visit, which wasn't about a big deal and had no conclusion.
Or... Maybe you want to 'Go Out with a Bang' as did our old pal LittleToe:
http://www.jehovahs-witness.net/jw/friends/20680/1/Going-out-with-a-bang
I think he said that if he had it to do over again he would not have done that, but it's a good read and so gutsy and creative. Don't know if the audio link still works but you may want to read that thread before making your decision.
-Aude.
i have just seen the movie.
it's very accurate when describing the jw lifestyle and convictions, even their clothes and hairstyle.
but a bearded elder with a rather long hair???
Zid - I just watched it for the 2nd time. And, like you, THOROUGHLY enjoyed it. Also picked up on more of the nuances. They perfectly captured the undertones and expressions. I so related to both of the girls (Sara and her sister). So capable in the house. Mother was dispensible.
Really good, good movie. Well worth watching.
Time to return the 'borrowed' DVD back to the person who loaned it to me.

DagothUr wrote: So, the brothers from the northern countries are allowed to give speeches and hold priviledges while wearing a beard and uncut hair? Even at a congress?
Yes. That is true. Been mentioned and discussed on several threads about this movie.
In America, his grooming would be considered rebelious and inappropriate for a man holding a position of leadership in a congregation but in parts of Europe, it is considered acceptable. Just as acceptable as wearing shorts in other countries where that is the custom.
The way you worded your comment, though, suggest that you are either not a witness, or maybe not from English-speaking country.
-Aude.
my son wants to say hi to everyone on the forum.
as one of the main drivers to us exiting the cult he is very excited about never going to a meeting again.. if i knew how to load pictures i would let you see his plan for christmas lights next year.
apparently we are having a sleigh with reigndeers.
Little Cantleave -
Hello from California! Did you guys get the Christmas Card I sent last month?
