I guess I should have left active JW out
You might be able to start anew thread stating just that and then cut and paste a link to this thread.
Maybe that will help.

this is sorta directed to you as asking rather then telling... i am studying the bible and go to many teachers/sources of the bible... (my sins are being paid for and thus my credit as a christian in no way is held high enough to make claims of im right or your wrong in the eyes of a jw, but im still being humble and live now according to gods standards with my study in the bible and christian believes, so be open minded to the facts of my credit to your idea of standards) my views are expressed below thru use of the bible regarding the comment you made on this thread.... .

It's not because I don't believe its teachings, although I certainly do not, but because the Society crosses that line in the sand.
Nicely put. I agree and like the succinctness of your words that I plan to use them next time I have discussion with someone about the WTS.
Hopefully you don't mind me plagerizing them...?

Missed this yesterday.
Happy Birthday, Terry!
Had we known, we could have thrown a little 'fest in your honor. Maybe should get started planning one for 65...?

my son wants to say hi to everyone on the forum.
as one of the main drivers to us exiting the cult he is very excited about never going to a meeting again.. if i knew how to load pictures i would let you see his plan for christmas lights next year.
apparently we are having a sleigh with reigndeers.
What a cutie pie!
<==== This is my pic but you can't really see my face.

since half of them ended up at my house on friday and saturday nights i was given a very shining report card.
he then told me that he would knock on my door bright and early in the morning to take me to breakfast with him and his wife.
a couple of them told they enjoy the articles i write in the art magazines and they were really happy to meet me.
Still one of my favorites.
Dave - Haven't seen you here for a long time but I think you may lurk once in while. Hope you are doing better and having fun. Did you ever write the follow-up? Many of us would love to hear it.
And if you haven't written it yet but would prefer to just verbally record it, I would volunteer to do the transcription.

let me state that these sensational types of threads are counter-productive, in my humble opinion.
the whole "spying" thing and the cameras and secret recordings in shower stalls and toilets is nutty!.
do these threads help you to see how the organization is wrong?.
When they pop up I may take a glance - especially when it hits 10 pages.
But they do not inspire me to anything but a good eye roll and heavy sigh.
While I have no doubt that some Bethelites monitor or watch or even post here, the sensationalistic threads just make me think that the person reporting the story is a bit 'off'. I get an image of rabid, foaming apostate. Not a good image and definitely not credible.

don't wait.
update your advance medical directives before you find yourself in my situation.... .
my left arm was feeling 'odd' last friday morning as i was getting dressed for work.
bttt - because it's a good reminder.
Especially with all the newbies who may not have thought of this.

hi folks.
i wondered if any of you ex elders can help me to figure out what my status is and therefore how to log out from the borg.
i was baptized at 15, faded at 18. never heard anything from the elders after their first visit, which wasn't about a big deal and had no conclusion.
What Happened wrote: That's the last thing I want is the Hospital Liason coming to visit me when I don't feel good in the hospital.
If you have been admitted to a hospital in the past and told them you were a JW, contact the hospital as well and tell them to change that info. If your hospital or doctor has and AMD (Advance Medical Directive) on file for you, rescind it not.
I did not do this and was hospitalized for emergency treatment. At registration in the ER I told them to remove JW from my record. When nurses came to my bed to review info, they said "JW?", I said NOPE. It took 3 tries while in the hospital and then when I returned a week or two later, it STILL showed JW.
Not only that, but I had and AMD on file and it's a bitch to try and change that stuff when you are already in their care.
And, yes, I did indeed get an unexpected visit from a friendly elder whom I had never met.
Here is the link to my story:
BTW - Porfida, Maksym and What Happened - Welcome to JWN! It's nice to have you join us. And Maksym - nice that you decided to chime in~!!
-Aude.
PS: Porfida - sorry for the brief hijack. What Happened's concern *can* happen. It did to me!
...on how many people have joined jwn during the years?.
lately i seem to see an influx of new people signing up.
a report of user sign-ups maybe by year or whatever breakdown available could be very "upbuilding" and "encouraging" to lurkers.
Nice.

this is what is paraphased by an ex-elder who has lots of contacts.. .
updated: johnny the bethelite's revelations!.
what follows is not a verbatim transcript but a now updated summary.
It makes me laugh that they were disfellowshipped for having an alternate Bible study, when you consider this is the same exact thing that CT Russell did in the beginning when he was associated with the Seventh Day Adventists.
Afraid of competition maybe??
