No.
Maybe 'not yet' is more appropriate.

do the other witnesses with whom you associate/once associated in general know that you are an apostate or have apostate inclinations?
the reason for the phrase "in general" is that it may be the case that one or two close friends know how you feel, but others in general do not.
in my own case, one other witness knows, but no one else, so i would answer the survey question with a "no".
No.
Maybe 'not yet' is more appropriate.

i don't have a blood card anymore, have not filled out any of the no blood wt forms but i have come to the realization that if i don't have a living will, my parents can still have the deciding factor if i ever get into a situation where i may need blood.
is this true?
i mean, would the hospital allow them to tell them to let me die b/c of the blood issue even though i have no documents supporting such a decision?
Everyone, ex-JWs, JWs, and never been JWs should have a healthcare proxy.
I agree with Blondie. There's so much more than just blood at stake.
Also, consider my experience last summer. If you've ever been treated at your local hospital, you may find yourself in an unpleasant situation at a real bad time.

i *know* someone here must know the answer this question.... how do you get butter out of suede (without paying $40 to the dry cleaners)???.
.
If all else fails drink the vodka and you'll forget about the stain.
LOL. Best laugh of the day! Thanks
I will have to look for Thoro, too.
This stain had just ruined my day. It shouldn't have but it did. It's my absolute favorite jacket. Business lunch today - one of my coworkers (who had just been treading on a raw nerve of mine all week) sat next to me and dropped a butter knife on the sleeve. It smeared to 3 places and I was so irritated I couldn't find speakable words.
All your tips may end up saving someone's life.
Or just reduce my dry-cleaning bills.
Thanks again everyone.

I hope you can get her to agree that since you've both been-there-done-that and can't fabricate any feelings of joy (as required) over this, you might ditch it next week... and the next...
This comment reminded me of my old roommate. VERY faithful sister. She was in her late 30's / early 40's at the time and desperately wanted to be married - but only 'in the lord' (or to a nearly active 'brother').
Third time thru the Family book, she just couldn't do it. She told her PO dad that she would sit this one out and return to the book study when they were done. She felt just a little guilt but - man!! - it was just torture for her. I was impressed that she stayed away.

I thought I would make you vomit that drink out with some of the crap we are studying at the moment
Didn't make me vomit one bit.
Made me scroll to the next post real fast, though.

Cool.
Thanks for the advice, everyone.
I moved recently and the rubbing alcohol is still in a box somewhere in the garage, the cornmeal got tossed out and I have a small container of baby powder.
But - I still know exactly where my vodka is! (UN-opened, of course... )

Stilla wrote: alcohol - vodka is best - clean spirit
Ummm
I'm not sure if you are being serious...
I thought they were talking about 'rubbing alcohol' - which I can't find right now. I can find the vodka easily.
You're joking about using vodka to clean suede, right??

i feel a little odd in posting this..... i am a 39 year old former witness, former elder, former just about everything.
been through much in the last two years... realized not all things i believed were true to me, not all things in the faith work the way i thought.
no anger about the past... i did what i believed to be true to myself, and what others do is their decision.
Back in the 70's I lived in western PA for a short time.
Went to the Butler hall and kept in touch with a few families for a while. Sadly, I've lost contact with them. Nice people.
I have some family in Latrobe and McKeesport.
I live in So Cal now.
Welcome to JWD!

Damn.
No cornstarch in the house. Do you think talc (baby powder) will work just the same?
Can't hurt. Can it??
