Yeah Jt it is readily apparent that when the fundies don't have a answer to the hard question asked of them, they resort to 'your bad, your immoral, you love anal sex, blah blah blah........
To me it display's the nature of the beast...in other words they are saying to themselves if not outwardly....if it wasn't for bible laws, for my religion, what woud deter me acting out all my desires.
In fact many so called faithful, are such, just because they know how depraved they would be without the constraints put upon them by Jesus, Allah, or the gb.

So now, growing old and having to plan for retirement is a real shock to the system.****

Even though I left in 1980 even after 24 yrs the damn incidious cult keeps it's tentacles glued to your phsyce! Dansk said it takes about 6 months to chill out.......how about 6 years in my case. The mind plays games with you about sin, everlasting life, paradise, blah blah.
It's really not until you have been able to sort out all the God issues, that allows for any kind of peace and serenity.
I shed the tear's for years. But then the tears turn into resolve, never to let yourself be so bamboozled again.

Most all of the examples you cited are what make so many of us question even the exsistance of YHWH, the tribal god of the ancient Isrealites.
Is it so difficult for bible believer's to at least consider the notion that the activities and writings of Moses and other bible characters are simply reflections of 'men' who were seeking God. Then were very adept (as most religions are) at creating or manufacturing a god suitable to their times and needs?
I would really like to know if you can even give that question serious consideration.

Little if any difference between the ancient desert tribal warmongering YHWH, and the Allah worshiper's of today. About the only thing you can say positive about the 'christian tribe' of today is; their warmongering, fighting, is tempered by the words of Jesus.....
Probably why Islam decided to say it is ok to believe in Jesus to.......they had no way to explain away the commandments to fight, fight, fight.
Iam sure the radical fundies in the Islamic religion, reject anything related to Jesus.

You get the grand prize UnD........as the cheers and hoots of all your fellow fundies revel in the sheer glory of knowing just how special you are in the eyes of god.
Men have always been drawn to secret societies, closed clubs, that only admit those who know the proper pass words.
It it any wonder so many want to join your club? Man you offer eternal bliss, closeness to god, heavenly thrones.......its a pretty damn special club eh.
There is another club anyone can join if so inclined that offers the faithful devotee a chance to obtain perfection in heaven and enjoy 72 virgins to cater your every whim and fancy. They have a prophet who lived around the time of Jesus to. Yes they have a big bound volume of sacred scripture which they preach and teach as god's message to mankind.
And if the truth be known UnD, it was probably sheer chance that you were born in a country devoted to the Jesus Club................because the greater population of the world belongs to the other club Islam.
Wonder why god is so fickel, he just allows man to start any ole club, with whatever benefits they seem to desire, and just goes along with the whole thing. He is really easy.
Or is it just man creating whatever he needs, to try and answer the really hard questions.

Ok I get your point. Just believing is all that is required, right?
Wrong. Christians no matter the particular sect or persuastion, share the same basic fundemental dogma. You must accept Jesus as your personal saviour, you must believe he actually exisited, you must believe that he is God or the son of God....your choice.
You cannot deny that unless someone subscribes to the above he cannot really call him/herself a true Christian. Right?
Then if you dig just a little further beneath this Free Gift you so like to talk about.......the true Christian must also realize that his belief now condemns all others who do not hold to or accept Jesus are doomed to destruction. Don't pull a jw on me and try and deny this, ok.
This is the basic dilema most all of the worlds religions face....they present themselves as generally very magnanomous about other religious beliefs, but when you really corner them, make them confess their true beliefs about all non-believer's, they must if truly honest admit.........DO IT OUR WAY OR YOU DIE!
That was my whole point in responses as to why 'born again'....'allah praisers'....whomever all share something very much in common.

The above statement really confirms the point as regards judgemental attitudes of 'true believer's'.
Essentially the 'saved'/'born again'/ jw/jw elder, must constantly remind themselves of their sinful nature. They must be ever mindful of every nuaunce of speech and action......so as not to offend or violate some biblical injunction. Then when confronted with even reasonable inquiry as to the validity of their belief(s), they almost invariably take a rigid posture of defense.
If Christ really set you free, no question, no 'doubting Thomas', should or would even get a rise. The truth should stand alone on its merit to any observer or investigator.
The observations made by Funky, Mulan, City, and others should provide a wonderful opportunity for fellas like you to present rock solid arguments to us doubter's. Yet it always seems to deteriorate into...........the kind of comments Nou has displayed.
Very little reasoning, but a whole lot of condemnation.
As Mulan said........very sad.
