tonight the wife is out, and i had some time to think.. i was watching tv but got bored, because there is a fantastic thunderstorm going on right now.. i turned off everything, and started to think about things, ans why i've had a kind of empty feeling lately, as to my past.

i think about the little things, the history of my life.. somewhere, i lost my life to the jws, that early time that is supposed to be the most important in forming who we become.. i remember being a child, but can't remember when i felt like a child, i just seem to be missing something.

is it the birthdays, holidays, friends i was barred from having?

If you don't care for the Womens Encylopedia of Myths, perhaps you would be more comfortable with 'Aid to Bible Understanding' or the Children's Illustrated Bible? Maybe the paintings on the ceilings of a myriad Italian chapels depicting God and his angels in various very human form. ????????????

Why oh why does one man's faith, allow for such mocking of another's view. You like most other fervent believer's carry on the tradition of narrow minded judgementalisim.

Maybe if you read the info above with an open mind, you might concede the possiblity that your chosen faith, is just another 'myth'? Think maybe?

Today with the help of a gasoline powered 'airless' paint sprayer, I painted about 200' of 400' new three rail fence around part of my property. When I looked in the mirror at my paint spattered face, I saw the subliminal image of a tired old Jesus with a white beard by connecting the dots.

Being the professional you are, please tell me the meaning of this message. Eenie Meeanie, Tickel me Farksin, a reward will be paid in the form of voucher's good at any 'green stamp' redemption center.

tonight the wife is out, and i had some time to think.. i was watching tv but got bored, because there is a fantastic thunderstorm going on right now.. i turned off everything, and started to think about things, ans why i've had a kind of empty feeling lately, as to my past.

Thanks, it feels good just to say it, doesn't it.

When I think about the fact that everyone of us raised in the cult, had our little minds assaulted with all that 'spiritual betterment' day in day out, literally from infancy, is it any wonder we suffer life long neurosis/flash backs?

The only thing that temper's my justified anger about the whole thing, is the simple fact that there were compensating benefits.

Learning to speak in front of groups, the art of salesmanship, the compulsory need to socialize with all age groups, these lesson's providing a few positives for all the negatives you mention.

Even with the above, nothing can reedem them for the outright theft of our need for peer acceptance...we little devout jw's had little if any.

i just got this email this evening from the cto of my hosting provider: i am writing you in regards to your site www.dirtclod.com.

we have been forwarded a copy of a complaint that was sent to our upstream provider regarding your site and the content which is posted on your site.

it would seem that you are posting copyrighted sections and images which are legal property of watchtower bible and tract society of new york inc. please remove these offending letters and images which are being claimed are used without permission, or provide us a statement which allows you to publish/reproduce this content on your website.

Unfortunately the WTBS like any other billion dollar corporation, has at it's ready a fully staffed legal dept (unpaid).

True to corprate form, they can and will invest time and money in squelching bad press. They have the will and the means.

Throughout their history, they have been fortunate in the arena of litigation. Their success at defense/plaintiff has not changed much to this date.

Here's hoping that the tide will turn very soon.

I wouldn't be so quick to malign yourself there Mike..........I was watching the 'Crock Hunter' the other nite, he was in Africa or somewhere in the 'outback' and he stopped dead in his tracks,bent down and pulled right out of the sand, a sand burrowing snake that literally swam through the dirt!

Were you part of the group sent to Bethel in 1967 for construction projects on the farm?

My pioneer partner in Ga, another Tommy was called up in that same year. Perhaps you remember him, Tom Henry?

Tom and I went through high school and graduated together in 1965. He stayed at Bethel for about 3 or 4 yrs. Then he moved to Tupelo Miss and married a 'southern peach'.......I flew out to see him from California for several days.. he barely said a word about his Bethel stay. In fact he said it wasn't what one would expect.

I don't know what ever happened to Tommy..........maybe someday we will meet again........your story an indication of 'you just never know'.

Had he left the org as well?
