by pale.emperor inthis photo is doing the rounds on jw inspirational on instagram.
although the brothers and sisters think this is "oh so amazing" and "so cool" it's actually very sad and quite shocking.

Making life and death/life altering decisions based on commands from someone you're not sure exists
by jambon1 instraight from the off, i will say that i'm 100% atheist.
i have no faith.
however, it occurred to me while thinking back over my involvement with the jw religion and especially when i take into account personal and family situations where people have made life altering choices due to being jw's, just how crazy it really is.

Yes new boy, they will.
But that's a persons prerogative based presumably on reality.
God is invisible. He probably doesn't exist.
Making life or death decisions based on an invisible non reality is beyond crazy in my opinion.

2017 Circuit Assembly: Lesbians at school demonstration
by darkspilver insteve2: is there some way this can be presented so that it is crystal clear what was actually in the demonstrations and what was added?
i guess some will think it should be obvious - but this is where misunderstandings arise because we end up wrongly attributing something to jw organization that was never said.. circuit assembly theme: maintain love for jehovah!.
note to speaker: warmly encourage young ones to prove their friendship with jehovah by observing his commandments and defending his standards.

Likening it to smoking cigarettes.
I thought they counselled on 'illustrations being appropriate to the material'
What a big pile of horse shit.

"I've made a lifestyle choice to reject homosexuality"
Interesting that she's made this 'lifestyle choice' without obviously being a homosexual herself.
Unbelievable.
I wonder if it's so easy for a homosexual to make this 'lifestyle choice'.
Crass, inconsiderate, bigoted bastards.

Think about it; JW's when pinned down must be able to agree that they don't know 100% that their god is real. That is just fact. It's a whole way of life that is based on faith.
So, fair enough to make choices of morality or minor lifestyle choices. I can get that.
But when it comes to the bigger things; life/death, blood, shunning, etc. Well, do they ever factor in the thought - 'what if I'm wrong'?
Surely, it's a massive leap to base these BIG choices (many of which will profoundly effect others) on an invisible person who may not exist. You've not seen this person. You've not talked to him. You have absolutely no concrete proof that he is real. Yet, you'll make a life and death decision based on THAT?
Its absolutely crazy when you think about it.
Bat shit crazy.

Think about what they could use their money for
by jambon1 inreligions wealth has always made me squirm.
from the catholic church, with its golden city and priceless relics, to the mormons and their absurd temple and huge big fat bank account.
the jw's are the same.

From the Catholic Church, with its golden city and priceless relics, to the mormons and their absurd temple and huge big fat bank account.
The JW's are the same. Think about the money they've got if it is indeed true that they got 1 billion dollars for Brooklyn.
They could benefit so many needy people with proper humanitarian efforts - the homeless, the sick, children's welfare.
Yet what do they do? Fritter it away on bible literature that gets chucked in the bin and ridiculous 'bible educational centres' or whatever it is they call those developments they are building in the countryside.
Makes me sick to think about the sheer waste of time, money and effort
What a bunch of utterly useless trollops.

Australia TV's Bride & Prejudice’s Forbidden Wedding Dilemma
by darkspilver init's a world away from the dating shows and cooking competitions commercial tv networks are stacking their schedules with right now.
but on channel 7's bride & prejudice, we meet couples whose families are dead set against their relationships.
and it's a heartbreaker..... it was at love at first sight for sydney couple chris, 39, and grant, 32. grant's parents have always accepted his homosexuality; however chris's parents have struggled and remain uncomfortable with his way of life.

Homophobia is so outdated, bigoted and causes needless unhappiness.
Religion is obsessed with what other people are doing with their boabies and fannys.

Interesting comment at circuit assembly demo homosexuality
by poopie indemo talking about view of girls comeing out as lesbian.

In all seriousness I would imagine that this will be a massive factor in young JW's feeling more and more isolated in their out of date viewpoints.
EVERYONE I know now accepts homosexuality. Kids are out at school. Famous people are out the closet and embraced.
If I were a young JW I'd feel really out of sink with the rest of society.
Looking down on or even simply 'not agreeing' with a subject or a set of people that you are completely ignorant about anyway is just silly, out of date and bigoted.
