You do make some very valid points. I do feel ashamed of myself for being so narrow-minded, dogmatic, and intellectually dishonest for so many years. The truth is, I did take part in the indoctrination process for many years.Shouldering some of the responsibility
Although, this maybe true, it still does not entirely

However, one important point must be made. People can't just walk away from this organization like they could the Sierra Club, or the U.S. Badminton Association. This is an organization that has destroyed people simply for disagreeing with them. There are so many people on this site who have had their lives destroyed from the shunning policies. If anybody even dares to disagree with doctrines, they can be disfellowshipped and shunned by their entire families. There are people on this site who never got to see their grandchildren again, simply because they don't believe in the 1914 doctrine.
I think we should all show a little bit of compassion and understanding for those who have lost their families and livlihoods by the totalitarian behavior of this cult; oh, eh-ehm, I mean church.

one thing ive noticed in my research, is that there is no scriptural support to back up the judicial committee system.
Judicial committess vary quite a bit. It depends on the congregation, the body of elders, and what kind of conduct the person was involved in. I was involved in two of them. Both times, the brothers were very kind and gentle. I didn't even feel like I was in trouble. It felt more like a job interview.
Who ever this person is, I guarantee you that they are a virgin.

all i looked at was their heart and how they treated me.
that alone spoke for itself..
It's strange. Without ever looking at any kind of "apostate" material, my intuition began to tell me that the JW religion operated like a cult. (i.e. the worship of the organization and the Watchtower) I looked into the cult research of Steven Hassan, Margaret Singer, and Robert J. Lifton, and found staggering similarities. I determined that it wasn't the truth long before researching any of the doctrines or going on any JW critical sites.
It's strange how the G.B. insists that looking at "apostate" material will mislead JWs. But, I have found that many, if not most ex-JWs determined that the org was not the truth before even looking at any "apostate" materials. It seems as though the biggest enemy to the organization is not "apostates", but is the human intuition itself.

does anyone know of any links or have any info on women's role in the congregation and why the jw are either right or wrong?
i always felt they were wrong, but it was always just a gut feeling.
