How about keeping a watchtower and awake spare and when they knock on the door do a presentation to them about how you're taking the brochure with you to hell to preach to Satan. You've got one foot in the world and another in the organization. That should shut them up

I hated it. I was always pushed to do it. Sometimes brought to the door and as the door opened I was told, 'it's your turn'.
I hated it even more when we knocked on the doors of people that smelt and invited you in.

documentary
by samu inhello all, i'm new to this and a past jehovah witness.
i'm making a documentary for my project about the religion and would love to hear experiences.
i'm also very annoyed with my mother's congregation after an event so i'm more determined to make this.

Thanks all for making me feel welcome. So about my docu, I'm not sure the exact subject to cover, the cover up of paedophiles or these sublimal messages in the artwork of publications. Can someone make a suggestion?

What did you take with you when you left the organization?
by coffee_black inleaving the organization, it is like packing for a journey you can choose what you take with you, and what you leave behind (other than people).
there are things i chose to take with me.
for example, i have used the sales training to my advantage over the years.

What was left of my sanity and the knowledge that sooner or later they would knock on my door.
Actually I have a funny story. The presiding overseer and his wife were on the ministry in my block and my sister and I saw them coming. Our mother who is still a practising JW told us that they would be on the ministry in our block. Basically my sister and I did our best impression of army training (sliding across the floors under the window) so we wouldn't be seen. We played hide and seek with them. Worse thing though, my mum came home just as we were sliding down the stairs and opened the door to very confused people who believed we weren't home. She weren't amused at all. Neither were they as I had met them two weeks before at my nan's house and said I was very welcoming and a lovely young woman.

Hello all, I'm new to this and a past Jehovah Witness. I'm making a documentary for my project about the religion and would love to hear experiences. I'm also very annoyed with my mother's congregation after an event so I'm more determined to make this. It won't be a negative all round but I'd like to cover the stories of paedophilia and how there are homosexuals who still remain active Jehovah Witnesses. I don't have a prob, I'm not Jehovah to judge. If anyone can help me with my progress then I'd be eternally grateful.
