  What "Rules" Did You Have In Your Congregation?

  in our congregation, we had a theocratic ministry school overseer make the sisters stand while giving their talks because he would counsel them on a point of counsel having to do with speaking to the "householder".

  (i forget that exact point of counsel) so the sisters knew they had to follow this imbecile's quirks or get a "w".

  another rule that was eventually abandoned too, was that only elders and ministerial servants could offer prayer at the kingdom hall......any rules that you had to deal with??

  Dont sit in the back- those seats are for the dfd ones and the ones that could not arrive on time.

  If you were standing at the back of the hall you were told to sit, even if you were standing due to you child.

  No one of the opposit sex, unless married and even then it was frowned upon, can go door knocking together. They might have sex while out in service! If only, then maybe more young single ones would have gone out!

  We were not allowed to take breaks during service, we need to preach preach!

  Men had to have short, short hair and not facial hair at all.

  White shirts only and a jacket is a must.

  I dont know if any of you had this one, if there was not brother present to give prayer, women had to wear a head covering to show submission!

  If you left early during a meeting it was frowned upon.

  in our hall an elders child could do all they wanted and not get in trouble, but if you did not have and elder for a daddy or a close friend your were screwed!

  Scared of what will happen..

  i am having a laparoscopy and a leep.

  the leep is to remove cervical cancer, and the lap is to look at my repoductive organs and all the stuff.

  One more thing, I am only 22 that is the other part that scares me. Being young and starting to deal with these sort of things already. But maybe I am not to young?

  On May 10 2006 I will be having two surgical procedures, and I am a bit scared. Even though I have been reasured that they are both very common, I am still scared. I am having a Laparoscopy and a Leep. The Leep is to remove cervical cancer, and the Lap is to look at my repoductive organs and all the stuff. The last time I was put under I was 5 and not a jw. I have let my hubby know that if I just so happen to bleed out and need a transfusion that I am o+ blood and to let them do it. Also, I have to return to work that Monday, and I work with autistic children that I have to lift and they weigh a good 60pds. I have been unable to sleep, I worry that there may be more cancer in my body yet to crop up. Every one on my grandfathers side died of cancer or currently has cancer. My hubby calls me a worry wart, and I may be just that, but this is the first surgical procedure I have had since I was 5. The only good that will come of this is that maybe finally I will not have pelvic pain any longer.

  Have any of you ladies had any of these two procedures done? What were the results?

  My grandmother keeps on trying to get me to go. I keep telling her that I have a drs. appt and wont be able to make it..She asked me what was more important..Jehobah or my drs apt...

  This drs apt is really serious, I have stage 2 pre cercvial cancer.. So i cant miss this appt...

  i am the youngest of 6 children (the only on that is out)and between us we have 12 kids.

  the last i knew only one was still attending meetings.

  two others were never baptized and see my parents once in a great while.

  I graduated High school with honors. My Sophmere year I was offered a spot on National Honor Society, my mom would not allow me because it would happen on a meeting night.

  I plan to attend college in Aug. to be a nurse (lpn). My aunt is very happy for me, she is a jw. My grandmother cant understand why I want to go to college with the end of the worl nearing.

  My hubby and I will go together..

  It just really makes me sick how they keep harping on the school subject. They want kids to quit school and pioneer. They care more about how we appear on the outside than ppl molesting children.

  Have they even approached that in an Awake or Watchtower mag.? Remember in the Young ppl ask book they had stuff how materbation is wrong..Will they ever come out with a section that talks about molesting children, and how that is wrong?

  It just makes me sick to see how ppl can still be apart of the borg with all this evil going on. If aliens landed on earth tomorrow and God came down from the heavens and told them that the jws were wrong they would still follow the same dumb religion.

  Lets guess the ppl who write the mags. quit school? just a thought
