If someone asks for my input I always say"this is what I did, or would do", "this is what society says you should do". There are too many "if's" and "but's". People's lives and morals are too different to base advice on one answer.

Do you follow you own advice?
by Golf inpeople are so free about giving advice.
my question is, do you follow your own advice?
i have often quoted this scripture, "...do you, however, the one teaching someone else, not teach yourself?

Kingdom Hall Accounts Report
by Honesty inwhy doesn't the watchtower society allow accounts servants to make copies of the accounts report and pass them out to all attendees at the kingdom hall so they can follow along as he reads the report?
that way all the dubs could more fully share in the joy that comes out of giving from the heart?.
at the church i attend we have a quarterly business meeting where every one receives a complete financial statement that has been audited by several committees in order to insure that every penny is accounted for.

I donated on a regular bases when I was going and the last time I gave, our hall was under remodeling, new chairs, carpet, speaker system, painting, etc... I gave a very sizeable amount and what was read on the report was less than I gave, so I didn't give anymore.

Is there a God/supreme being/ or what?!
by DigitalFokus inok, so i was raised luthren, my dad was cathlioc and then i went dub for 5 years and since have been completely turned off religion.
the dub experience combined with world events and my personal ones have pretty much pushed all thoughts of a "almighty" out of my mind.
of course there are times that i think of religion or get into a "2am religion talk" and i wonder wtf is really going on.

I believe there is something out there, but I always get caught up on Who created God? Does he have a higher power? Parents? How was he brought to be?

I have been away from the meetings for 1 1/2 years now, and I still debate in my head all the time on their views.

When you were in the org. how did your non-believeing relatives treat you? My relatives got very distant from me, probably cause all I would talk about was "truth" and try and hand out mags. I feel extremely blessed that when I did decide to leave they ALL welcomed me back with open arms. It is very sad, the time I lost with some though. But, on the flip side, very blessed to have such a loving family.
