I never did understand why the WTS corp. never gave the money themselves to fulfill their preaching mission, they have millions and millions of dollars and assets that they could use to build them, but no, make the already struggleing DUBS feel responsible.

Worst experiences with ex spouses
by greendawn inwhat were some of the worst experiences you had with ex spouses or ex boyfriends/girlfriends?
one of my ex girlfriends just left me suddenly without ever saying anything in advance and i never saw her again for a long time and that happened by coincidence.
her disappearence was totally unexpected.

JGNAT- that is awful !!!!!! I too was beaten on a regular basis, but not to that extent, mine was more into the psychological games, threatening to hang the kids by trees or torterong them in front of me, then killing me (two were his own from a previous marrige). Feel blessed that you made it out, so many women stay because they are trapped. I wish you lots of love, happiness and success.

Justitia I know how you felt, I too had a company, very succesful with my ex, and he left me, moved in with his parents, and transfered everything over to his parents name, drained the bank account, and continued writing checks on the account even after I closed it. I couldn't afford the house payments anymore, so the parents "graciously" took over the payments and I had no options but to sign a quit claim deed over so they could finance in their name. I lost everything within a month, but now, I look at my life and if that is what I had to go through to get where I am today, I would do it again. It really built character and made me stand on my own two feet.

My favorite weather...what's yours? (Ozzie's gone fluffy!)
by ozziepost inyep, as i'm tapping away here i started to hear the gentle roar on the patio roof - it was a shower!
and the water's free!.
looking out the window i marvel at the richness of the green - the green leaves on the trees and bushes in the backyard, the green of the grass - and it's various shades too!

I love watching a thunderstorm coming in from the distance, the smell of rain in the air, the energy. That is my idea of a good time on a warm summer night, kicking back on the porch, with a cool drink, and watching the show.

Cleaning the Kingdom Hall
by general inwhat part of the hall was your favorite part to clean?
was it the bathrooms, the main hall, library or lunch room perhaps...did people use cleaning the hall as an excuse to get self-righteous?
let me know.... lol.

I did the cleaning one time. I was cleaning with a sister who had cleaned numerous times, so she knew exactly how to clean. I was (hurt) when she took it upon herself to make sure she checked everything I did to make sure it was "cleaned right". She was so critical of everything, but the funny thing is, my house was always cleaner than hers...lol.

I too married into a JW family like yourself, it was probably the most abusive and oppressive relationship I had ever been in. What makes me happy now, is knowing that I am secure and safe, no mind games or outrageous expectations, if I want to take an hour out of my day to drink coffe and read books, my fiance thinks it is great, he just wants me to take care of myself and be happy.I definately make WAy more than I did with the witnesses, because now I can REALLY work. I am a self-employed painter, so no more scheduling jobs around studies, meetings, or even lunches whenever someone was in the neighborhood. My work relationships have improved, I am more personable with people. The book that changed my life was "WHY DOES HE DO THAT? INSIDE THE MINDS OF ANGRY AND CONTROLLING MEN' BY LUNDY BANCROFT. When I did look for a new mate I followed the suggeestions and guidelines from the book, and basically looked for the exact opposite of my ex. I couldn't have asked for a better life. Aslo, I did research on religion and how it keeps abusers controlling in their relationships by using scripture, and how to break free, the thing I most found was , if your God is a loving God, do you really think God will be all that upset if you leave an abusive relationship to better the quality of yours and your childs life? God knows all and sees all. Great post!!!

I used to get e-mails like that all the time, about once a month, but I just deleted them. It is scary all the fraud out there, and it would be very easy for someone who is not on the up and up about scams to get caught up in something like this.Sometimes they even ask for your personal banking money so they can "withdraw the money right out of your account and not hassle you anymore and leave the remaining funds".
