Hi, found-my-way. I'd like to suggest some alternatives to the Teach Book drivel:
Why not ask them to conduct the study using the Bible alone? I have yet to meet a Witness who is willing to or capable of doing so. Just reading a scripture in its own context throws them in a tizzy. They have a habit of running to the Library CD for non-scriptural answers, too, so ask them to stick with the Bible only, as God's Inspired Word and final authority.
(That was the beginning of the end of my last study.)
Or, take another tack: You might suggest a study review of the Watchtower back-issues from the time you left to the present, so as to catch up, of course... "Oh my, I missed SO much while I was away..." You can then share salient points from Blondie's hard-hitting "Comments You Won't Hear" series. She's created a goldmine here.
If they insist on using one of the books, then "Draw Close to Jehovah" is the least barfy, IMHO.

Talk on Apostates
by IslandBrother inhave you ever walked on the beach and tried following another persons footprints; matching your own steps with them as exactly as possible?
by calling ourselves christians, we have indicated our desire to do just that, to follow closely in the footsteps of christ.
have you ever noticed though that on a crowded beach, , there were several sets of footprints, many of them may look alike.

I am unable to locate the scripture/command to "follow closely in Jesus' footsteps" so I can read it in context.
It's such a popular phrase in WT pubs... can anyone direct me to the scripture/s?
Thanks ~ Sue -

Jeff, you may want to read Wilbur Lingle's "Approaching Jehovah's Witnesses in Love."

I'm pretty sure he spoke at the Witnesses Now for Jesus convention a few years ago.

Welcome, IslandBrother.
How typical the fear-mongering, knee-jerk mention of Korah. We know Jesus used death-threats like Korah all the time, right? His ministry was all about "Follow me, or face instant extermination!"
Oh no, wait... that's the Governing Body who have already started to rule as self-appointed kings (1 Cor. 4:8).
"Ah... the love!" as newboy would say.
