Do they themselves believe?

sometimes i wonder, with the number of letters that the wt receives refuting doctrine & practices, does the gb really buy what they put out?

or are they just pushing literature and living off the collections from congregations.

i would think that if i received overwhelming evidence of the faultiness of my religion, i'd be forced by my own conscience to change or speak up or make a difference.

Apparently they're being directed by Pastor Russell who's apparently sharing God's throne in constellation Pleiades. (see attached).

after reading all those threads and articles about how much money the wtbts has squirreled away and invested and after volunteering to serve birthday cupcakes and punch at a homeless shelter run by the combined efforts of first presbyterian church and first methodist in downtown dallas, i have decided that i want my money back.. i want back every single cent that i ever contributed to that jabba the hut of an organization that just sits on its money and never uses a penny of it to benefit its members or the rest of humanity.

i want back the $10,000 that my dad "loaned" the society in the 1970's that they -- 10 years later -- strongly suggested he just give to them to save them the trouble of writing a check.. i want to be paid for the 13 years of regular pioneer service that i wasted on that organization.

let's see, at roughly 100 hours a month (that's what the requirement was back then), 1200 hours a year times 13 + 15,600. hmmm, okay, i'll take minimum wage for it -- isn't that $6.50 an hour now?

PS of course don't bother asking for a refund, the only way they would pay is after a court order.

I expect that for a worldwide class action lodged in New York it will take quite a bit of preparation - the establishing of a trust fund whereby the plaintiffs can collectively provide the necessary costs. We are here talking about the entire value of the WTS and a large scale class action of potentially thousands, or tens of thousands of plaintiffs.

A large dynosaur type body such as the WTS would find it difficult to hide it's assetts so there need be no secrecy in preparing such an action

Not "Indian givers" - the society is the Aryan giver, don't forget the leaders of the cult praised up the virtues of the Aryan race as foremost of God's chosen.

...God may have been, nay, evidently has been, a respecter of races, and has specially blessed and favored cerrtain branches of the Aryan race in Europe and America [The Bible versus the Evolution Theory, Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society, pages 31].

So let the GB give it back and go and live in nursing homes live all the other old witnesses have to when they're no longer of any use to the WTS

Remember that for he that does nothing useful with the money, it will be taken away.

Rather than going to the meetings reading present truths, you can look up past truths - real WTS documents, on the web and do a bible study with them.

If a government shuts down the watchtower society they make it a 'spiritual martyr'. If former JW's ask for their money back it has to shut down because according to Roman's they have to be in submission to the higher authorities (i.e. the court).

i need your help to continue my lawsuit against the watchtower society and the doctor who the watchtower society arranged for to give my daughter arsenic.

the wts lawyer, hlc members and the doctor deceived bethany and lied to her, convincing her that arsenic would cure her.

bethany was convinced that arsenic could cure her and was curing her.

I started a law course a few years ago and fought a death's in custody case as a McKenzie's friend in the Northern Territory Supreme Court, the judge didn't give a verdict because it was the prisoner's words against the guards, but you can do it yourself. I'd be interested to see a rundown on the case.

We had to appeal against an interlocutory decision to obtain an exhumation in another State and won that appeal without a lawyer. So don't be too frightened. In this day and age all of the information is available. I'm not saying that a lawyer is not important, just don't be intimidated by an appeal on a point of law. You just have to focus on those points of law. In my experience an appeal is easier because you can put everything down in writing first.

I've often thought that it would be a good start and doesn't require us to bring up and prove all of the psychological damage that we've suffered as we would in a personal psychological injury action. But that's another side of it too. Psychological injury due to indoctrination - psychological trespass. Misrepresentation causing damage.

A quantum meruit action and an action for recovery of gifts obtained through undue influence might open up people's eyes and would be the easiest place to start and hit them where it hurts, in the bank balance of "Jehovah's Organisation"

I'm a fourth year law student in Australia.

I have been thinking about this for some time in respect of my time spent serving and donations given to another cult - Vipassana meditation as taught by Mr S N Goenka.

If a gift is not freely given, then it can be recovered by way of legal action claiming undue influence. I should think that would be pretty easy to prove. If you leave you'll go to hell and be shunned to boot. So you stay. If you stay you feel obligated to give the money. So it's not freely given. As for the "ministry", well that is obligated also by the WTS for a JW, so it is work for the society, again not freely given. A class action quantum meruit claim would probably sink the Watchtower Bible & Tract Society completely.

If a child is born in the [present] "truth" they don't exactly have a choice in the matter - are they to live in "the world" - having as their father satan the father of the "lie"?????? Where is the free will in that?

I consider that it would have to be something like the class actions against Dow Corning or James Hardie - I'm sure it would have good prospects of success and the idea should be raised with the lawyers acting already in child abuse cases.

In actual fact if any family members of JW's who have died and given all of their estates to the WTS want to recover as well they should also consider joining such a class action as gifts in a will are subject to the same legal principles.
