  Hambeaks Extremely Heartbreaking News

  our friend hambeak just got the most dreaded phone call from his jw child.

  the news was passed on as he was asked for by name and not as"dad" and let known that "they" just called to let him know that his other son, brian, age 26, is dead.

  he was in a car accident.

  thank you all sparky was here for a while and cooked dinner she is so sweet I will make it through this. My daughter called and was so ugly on the phone she only hopes I will die soon

  to everyone i wish a very special holiday season and a thank-you to all for the kindness and help i have received from the folks on this board.

  i had problems mentally dealing with family and health as well.. i am fine now and want to say thank-you to a few that have really helped in one way or another.. katiekitten, sparkplug (who really looks a lot like j lo) coco, chris and nina, warlock, outlaw (who always makes me laugh) mary, blondie and of course crazy bonde deb (who is sweet and not crazy) lol.

  Nurses, unite!

  just wondering how many of us are nurses?

  i'm a licenced practical nurse (working on my rn degree), and i work as a cosmetic dermatology specialist.

  i see about 10 to 16 patients per day, doing things like laser hair removal treatments, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, skin care consultations, etc.

  I am an RN as well received my AA in 73 and my BSN in 76 and my MSN and ACLS in 79 I worked mostly in Critical care and ER and did a stint for a while with the coroners office. Left nursing in 98 but not completely, still work occasionally through a registry so I can take my CEU'S to keep my license current.

  my wife's brother is going bonkers.

  his wife just called my wife to come up there to see if maybe he had a stroke.. his wife and daughter were out shopping and he was in the car waiting for them.

  when she got back to the car he asked, "who are you.?

  When I was in nursing I had a patient that had advanced alzheimers and he was only 38

  "Customer Service" Pet Peeves

  i hate when people use the "i'm new here" excuse, and then do absolutely nothing to try and find out what you are inquiring about or at least transfer you to someone that can help.. what are some of your "customer service" pet peeves?.

  Dealing with people is a pain at times no matter what side of the counter or phone line you are on.

  My pet peeve is the robots in customer service especially for cell phones with the virtual operators, goodness knows we pay enough for services and they can at least get more people to answer the phones.

  On the other side of the counter I have had customers come in 1 in particular who said you changed my oil and now my car shakes. I explained to him that his rotors were warped and he needed to have them replaced. After 15 minutes explaining in detail that an oil change has nothing to do with brakes and he started to get rude I just told him "GET THE HELL OUT AND DON'T LET THE DOOR HIT YOU WHERE THE GOOD LORD SPLIT YA!" Thats why I like working for myself. Most of my customers are polite a lot are dumb as dirt but that's OK. LOL

  "Let the woman keep silent"

  lately on jwd there have been a number of posts regarding the state of woman in the jw organization.

  one lady asks sisters for their thoughts and comments on male dominance over their lives.

  i am not a sister but for quite a few years this subject has been on my mind, but i never spoke my thoughts, always waiting for someone else to come up with a clearer explanation of bible texts that seem to indicate that christian woman should keep their mouths shut.. where to start?

  I think belbab has a point. Historically women were not in the forefront but were to do the bearing of children and the house chores while the men provided the food and the shelter and fought the wars.

  Now lets come up a few millenia and things are changed and for the better.

  We have women leaders, doctors, judges, ( I like Judge Judy) professors and the list goes on and on. Men for the most part are to busy dealing with their testosterone levels so they fight, start wars, kill, rape, etc.

  I believe in total equality based on ability. Just my 2 cents
