I don't hate all JWs. My husband is one, and I love him to death! And we have JW friends who are truly good, though misled, people!

You tell everyone on this board, in your most self-righteous tone, that they "lack faith". You said you wanted an intelligent discussion of religious doctrines but seem to have abandoned the thread which Auld Soul created for you two to have a respectful and objective discussion of doctrinal issues. What you've been doing so far is creating your own threads which (to me) are intended to arouse the very same emotion your post seem to imply you don't like. You are either a great manipulator, gloating in the success you seem to be getting in raising people's blood pressure OR you are a mindless fool who doesn't have a clue as to what you are doing. Either way, this will be my last post addressed to you.

Hi everyone! As everyone knows , my husband doesn't celebrate anything but wedding anniversary. My daughter wants to, but too young, inexperience and scared to be able to do anything on her own. Anyway, my work mates will probably do something tomorrow...

i realize it is impossible to expect that no one will post to this thread, and most threads don't survive more than a page or two before becoming sidetracked, but perhaps you and i can discuss whatever is on your mind in an "intelligent" manner in this thread.
maybe we could begin by requesting that this area be fairly undisturbed and at least that any additional posts to this thread outside of our discussion be of a statement nature and not distracting from the point by asking side-questions or hurling ad hominem.. first though, i would like some sense of what you consider to be an intelligent way to discuss issues.. can we agree to try and avoid logical fallacies and argue only points we each feel competent to address independently?

Well everyone...what's up with jw? Methinks he/she's gone, don't you? Last post was as of 5/5/06 408; it's now 5/7/2006 1204. Maybe re-arming???? Can't believe he/she's giving up so easily. But then again, I remember this being typical of witnesses I've known. They fiercely go for mind-control of the weak and the defenseless... but when they find themselves outfought, they are not shy about running away at lightning speed. Oh, I forgot...jw is supposedly not a "Jehovah's Witness"!

jw---I sincerely believe that you would benefit a lot if and when you start heeding your own advice. The first step is to identify and recognize your problem. And then actively try to solve it. Studying and meditaton might help. Also, pray and ask God for help. If you ask humbly and sincerely then, maybe--God might bless you with wisdom.

Well...this has been a long thread. Also read the thread specifically created for an "intelligent exchange" of ideas between Auld Soul and jw. You have my admiration Auld Soul!!! Since jw has not been too shy about announcing his/her opinions, I'm choosing to exercise the same right. My conclusion...jw is way out of his/her league. Sadly, it was like watching the master demolish a misguided pre-schooler who went to battle without adequate ammunition. Really sad......
