My Dad owns a business and when we were "in" he hired a bunch of dubs...but now we are out but they still work there and BOY DO THEY HATE US!!!!!!!!!!! They dont talk to me period because Im df, and they treat him like crap...but they have been there for so long they get paid great and they are now an asset so he has to put up with them. They place literature on the lunch table for the non witnesses that work there but when they are not looking I throw it away and put out my US Weekly mags. At least it wont make you sick while your trying to eat lunch!!!!!!!

Making real friends
by choosing life ini have been away from the meetings for about a year now.
i recently attended a funeral and the witnesses mostly avoided me even though i am not disfellowshipped.
my problem is i need to replace my old friends because they look at me with such suspicion now.. i never had trouble making friends before i was a witness,but that was 30 years ago.

My Brother has that problem...I think he still has it in his head that "wordly" people are "bad" and he looks at people so critically to the point oif rudeness. Needless to say he doesnt have alot of friends, but he is a great guy, he is just so stuck in his mind. I am pretty good at making friends but now I am a Wife and Mom and don't have alot of time to make friends. My best friend is really stuck in party mode and we really have nothing in common anymore so I mostly hang out with my Husband or Mom...

jws celebrate birthdays?!
by dobbie ini was speaking to a friend last night, trying to explain why i don't go to meetings etc,(waste of time though she just can't seem to understand my point whatever i say), anyway she said as long as i don't d'a myself she can still speak to me.
she said they only d'f you if you commit a gross sin.
i refuted this saying if they knew i didn't agree with some of the teachings, sent a fathers day card etc and you weren't sorry they'd get rid of you.

My family was like troubled minds...we got to go out to dinner and my Ma would buy us somehting special and we were allowed to accept gifts from non dub families, just had to keep it all on the DL...although now we party like rock stars on b-days!!!!!!!!!!

We just moved so I used that as an opportunity to clean house and threw all that junk away. My Dad threw his away about a year ago, it is so FREEING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i chose mine because i really feel 'in between', in that space where your not a jw anymore but really haven't figured out where you are in life and what path you want to take.

Non-JW asks: Why do JWs allow drinking? But forbid Birthdays?
by whyizit inmy jw friend recently condemned birthdays using two scriptures that spoke of evil men killing people on their birthdays.
seems to me that the men were evil, not the birthdays.
today is my birthday.

Is becoming a witness the right thing for me

i am a "cradle" catholic and have been very involved with the church.
i started to become disillusioned several months back with all of the tradition, habits, and teachings of the church--which i began to seriously doubt.

I was raised JW and could not in good consience recommend it to anyone, especially if you have children, please don't raise them in the JW. Listen to your spouse....she is right to be oppossed, she is protecting her family
