  I left Bethel 'Service' in 1976 and haven't set foot in any Bethel buildings in over 36 years. Every day I do a happy dance that I don't have to put up with their 'Paternalistic Bullshit' anymore!

  Witness Carts - A Vehicle for Significant Decline

  i was stalking to a jw today about her recent experience on the carts and with being a jw generally.

  until this conversation i considered the carts as just an ineffective preaching method and a harmless waste of time.

  but now i wonder if the effect of the carts might be to produce noticeable decline in jw numbers.

  Scary Dream

  a little background- i faded in august 2015. ive got to small kids and one on the way.

  i dont believe the jw cult nonsense anymore.. .

  ok so last night i had the scariest dream.

  I was a Bethelite in the mid 1970's and hated most of my time there. I had recurring NIGHTMARES into my mid 50's that I reapplied for Bethel service and was accepted immediately. In my dream, within a week I knew it was a mistake and could barely survive my year assignment there. And then after I got home, I reapplied again and was accepted immediately. Something like the movie GROUNDHOG DAY. Thankfully, I haven't had any of those nightmares for about 5 or 6 years. The religion gets deeply ingrained in our subconscious selves. Sorry for your dreams. I hope that they eventually recede and go away altogether. My sympathies to you.

  those who were baptized as jehovah’s witnesses but no longer preach to others, perhaps even drifting away from association with fellow believers, are not shunned.

  in fact, we reach out to them and try to rekindle their spiritual interest.. we do not automatically disfellowship someone who commits a serious sin.

  minneapolis (wcco/ap) — autopsy results show that prince died of a self-administered overdose of fentanyl, and his death was ruled accidental.. the 57-year-old singer was found dead april 21 at his minneapolis-area estate.

  the findings confirm suspicions that opioids played a role in the musician’s death.. after he died, authorities began reviewing whether an overdose was to blame and whether he had been prescribed drugs in the preceding weeks.. according to the national institute on drug abuse, fentanyl is more potent than morphine, and is “sometimes used to treat people with chronic pain who are physically tolerant to opiates.”.

  I do not feel bad for PRINCE. With his millions and millions of dollars he could have afforded the best Orthopedic surgeon in the world, with a highly competent team of assistants, that would have provided him with bloodless surgery. His millions and millions of dollars could have purchased him the best surgical, medical, psychological, chiropractic, physical therapy, nutritional and addiction treatments not available to the common man. I did not know the man personally, but it seems to me that he was just another drug addicted, two faced hypocrite that happened to call himself a Jehovah's Witness. And the Jehovah's Witness religion and their Governing Body (tm) lapped up the notoriety because he seemed to be 'living a clean' lifestyle. I have a business associate from Minnesota whose son went to some of the concerts and 'jam sessions' at Paisley Park. He told me that Prince would always tell his audience NO drugs, NO smoking and NO alcohol allowed. Then he winked at me and said 'but as you know Sparky, we never know what goes on behind closed doors.' Prince wouldn't be the first entertainer to cultivate a public persona that was nothing like his private life.

  according to the elder's rulebook, there is this addendum in the chapter on the grounds for judicial committee and the section: "misuse of addictive drugs":.

  please note: the use of addictive drugs under medical supervision, such as for pain management, would not necessarily require judicial review.

  when questions arise, consult with the branch office.. .

  I could not agree with you more, millie210. If someone does not have their own mental and emotional life in order, they have NO right to sit in judgment of another human being that is struggling with their own issues.
