  i'm wondering why believers remain members of this forum which is clearly hostile to believers.

  as one member said, nonbelievers pounce on any semblance of belief like piranhas on prey.

  as former jws we should have had our fill of judgmental know-it-alls, but here we are.

  i’ve been reading it for a few of years off and on, but have been a little too ... maybe ... timid to join.

  i left the watchtower organization almost 20 years ago but never abandoned my faith and belief in god.

  i knew the gb/organization didn’t represent god, so when i lost my faith in them, i managed to keep my faith in an all wise benevolent creator.

  How Did the Urantia Papers Come to Be?

  The midwayers influenced the celestial supervisors to initiate the petitions leading to authorization for the revelation to be given.

  No Reason For JWs To Go To The MIdweek Meeting (CLAM)

  everything that is done at the midweek meeting can now be done at home.

  the videos are online, the first talk is scripted, the bible highlights are scripted.

  you could get the same experience by just reading and watching the material from your tablet.

  i was a younger dub at the time of this release, and stopped watching this movie near its beginning, when john cleese was stoned with the huge rock for saying jehovah.. this was despite having been (and continuing to be) a major john cleese (and monty python) fan.. any fans of this film?.

  tell him that jesus probably didn't get married or it would have mentioned it in the bible, but at the same time we can't be 100% sure he didn't get married because it doesn't specifically say he didn't get married.

  sir82, I remember that line of reasoning also. To me it never made a bit of sense. Jesus didn't give up 'jack shit' by not being married. He lived for countless millions or billions or even trillions of years as Jehovah's 'Master Worker' before he came to Earth. In his lifetime he had already seen everything and had his 'finger' in all known creative works. In Noah's day, it was a sin for the 'angels' to materialize and get married and have children. Would it not be just as much of a sin for Jesus Christ (who was Michael the Archangel according to Watchtower teaching) to do the same? At any rate, we have Jesus who lived supposedly for countless eons of time, came to earth for about 33 years, was killed and remained dead for parts of 3 days. Then he was resurrected to immortal life as a spirit creature; never to experience death again. Why would he waste his time having a wife and children and live with a 'limited' material body? I don't believe any rational creature that was given a real chance at immortality in a non-material body wouldn't waste their time as a puny human tied down to a wife and children.
