Why Are You Here?
by Believer ini'm wondering why believers remain members of this forum which is clearly hostile to believers.
as one member said, nonbelievers pounce on any semblance of belief like piranhas on prey.
as former jws we should have had our fill of judgmental know-it-alls, but here we are.

Cofty is 100% correct on this point. If you are calling yourself a Christian you must accept the entire Bible 'lock stock and barrel'. The Bible cannot be treated like a Smorgasbord......pick out want you want and leave the rest.
In for a penny, in for a pound. If you don't accept the Bible in its entirety than you are not a 'true' Christian. You are some type of 'self- deluded', god intoxicated spiritualist that has created a 'hybrid' belief system trying to attach itself to so-called Christianity.

Anti-religion T-Shirt idea
by Simon ini want a t-shirt.
something that says "religion is crap, i don't care which one".. i was thinking of adapting the "coexist" one to say "toxic" instead which is great because it removes 'science' but includes all the major world religions.. anyone else have any ideas?.
also a tag-line ... "whatever god you worship, he's a weirdigan".

The only truthful and honest statement that Judge Rutherford ever uttered:
RELIGION IS A SNARE AND A RACKET
With his handsome 'mug' silkscreened on both the front and back!

Introduction - Any Believers?
by Believer ini’ve been reading it for a few of years off and on, but have been a little too ... maybe ... timid to join.
i left the watchtower organization almost 20 years ago but never abandoned my faith and belief in god.
i knew the gb/organization didn’t represent god, so when i lost my faith in them, i managed to keep my faith in an all wise benevolent creator.

How Did the Urantia Papers Come to Be?
The midwayers influenced the celestial supervisors to initiate the petitions leading to authorization for the revelation to be given.
"Their chief work today is that of unperceived personal-liaison associates of those men and women who constitute the planetary reserve corps of destiny. It was the work of the secondary group, ably seconded by certain of the primary corps, that brought about the co-ordination of personalities and circumstances of Urantia which finally induced the planetary celestial supervisors to initiate those petitions that resulted in the granting of the mandates making possible the series of revelations of which this presentation is a part. But it should be made clear that the midway creatures are not involved in the sordid performances taking place under the general designation of "spiritualism". The midways at present on Urantia, all of whom are of honorable standing, are not connected with the phenomena of so-called "mediumship"; and they do not, ordinarily, permit humans to witness their sometimes necessary physical activities or other contacts with the material world, as they are perceived by the human senses." (856.6) 77:8.13
You can believe anything that you want, but please don't poison the mind of your innocent grandson with such blatant foolishness.

No Reason For JWs To Go To The MIdweek Meeting (CLAM)
by JW_Rogue ineverything that is done at the midweek meeting can now be done at home.
the videos are online, the first talk is scripted, the bible highlights are scripted.
you could get the same experience by just reading and watching the material from your tablet.

"Very soon now, they will probably be handing out scripts and acting out demonstrations of how to converse with fellow cultists after the midweek meeting". - Billy the Ex-Bethelite
Perhaps a new script on how to put into practice Matthew 18:15-17?
