Who is your favorite thinker pt 2.

once upon a time i started a thread who is your favorite thinker and got many responses.

however revisiting that thread i noted we were to modest to name ourselves or fellow posters.

i therefore think we are either complete idiots, or modesty aside we should now name names, and restrict our answers to posters on the board.. so who on this board is your favorite thinker and why?.

Here are my 3 favorite thinkers (current Governing Body(tm) members aside) . Without the writings of these giants of theological intellect, many of the discussions on this forum would never have happened!

The 1975 Generation---are they still around?

i was raised as a jw and 1975 expectations were pretty intense.

as i recall, most people did not leave after the failed expectations but many s l o w e d down.

now, i think most of the 1975 witnesses are gone or barely in.. is the older generation still around in the kingdom halls or are they much gone?.

In the hall that I used to attend, the 1975 generation is almost gone. The last time I checked with someone in 'the know' there were about 96 publishers in the congregation. I just counted up everyone I knew from that generation and there are 13 publishers, the youngest being 51. My mother and all the old die hards are dead. That would mean that about 86% of the publishers in my old hall are of the post 1975 generation. The year 1975 - OUT OF SIGHT, OUT OF MIND! ( lucky for the current Governing Body(tm) )

Introduction - Any Believers?

i’ve been reading it for a few of years off and on, but have been a little too ... maybe ... timid to join.

i left the watchtower organization almost 20 years ago but never abandoned my faith and belief in god.

i knew the gb/organization didn’t represent god, so when i lost my faith in them, i managed to keep my faith in an all wise benevolent creator.
