  Some prayers really annoy me

  i realize that prayer is a really personal thing, but representing a group in prayer has become so full of cliche's that i just want to vomit sometimes.

  co week almost every prayer has the phrase "special week of activity" in it.. then there's "please look after the sick and afflicted.".

  not so much anymore, "please bless this food and the hands that prepared it.".

  This video 'parody' is more truthful than the one presented at this years convention. I was a 20 year old Bethelite in 1975 and remember the 1975 fiasco very well. Watching this creative video, 'She'd Never Grow Old', brought a tear my eyes!

  hi everyone, this is my first post .. it takes a little bit of courage to do it, i have to admit and even thought i have been lurking for some time as time goes by it gets more and more difficult to keep attending meetings and just been around the friends in the congregation.

  ever since i learned about the arc something inside of me just broke and it feels pretty hollow, now i pay attention to every single form of manipulation in every direction, what difference it makes with the catholic church or with any other religions ?

  i wonder why the publishers are under obligation to report about their lives and decisions to the elders but they don´t keep informed the congregation about what´s going on legally other than russia.

  Welcome to the forum. You will find many fine people that post here and much good information that will help you free yourself from Jehovah's Witnesses form of 'spirituality'. I note that you say that you are 'becoming weak spiritually'. Actually, you are probably becoming more of a 'spiritual' person as you weaken the hold that the Jehovah's Witnesses perverted form of 'spirituality' has on you.   Will Charles Taze Russell be Resurrected With a Beard?

  so i wondered what's going to happen to those who wore beards during mortality?

  picture if charles taze russell was resurrected and came face to face with joseph rutherford, second president of twt (the whole tamale) and the instigator of the beardless policy.

  BBC Medical soap features JWs and blood.

  tonight's episode of holby city on bbc 1 starts a jw narrative that explores family estrangement and the blood issue.

  the outcome is explored again in a couple of weeks and is pretty favourable to the jws..

  However, Dr. Ben Casey beat Dr. Kildare to the controversial 'punch' with an episode that aired on October 9, 1961. It was entitled, But Linda Only Smiled. According to an old story in PEOPLE magazine, Vince Edwards, the man who played Dr. Ben Casey, was attacked by an irate Witness during a publicity appearance at a Tucson, Arizona shopping mall because he was offended by the show.

  shortly before i left the "troof" a co had given a talk during his visit.

  at the time there was a scandal going on in the congregation where 2 couples basically swapped spouses with each other.

  it was quite the scandal.

  The entire scenario of disfellowshipping an individual for extended periods of time is an unbiblical practice created by the leaders of the Jehovah's Witnesses religion. The so-called template for the disfellowshipping and reinstatement arrangement is contained in 1 Corinthians and 2 Corinthians. In 1 Corinthians, Paul admonishes the 'congregation' to 'remove the wicked man from among yourselves'. This 'brother' was known to have had a sexual relationship with his step-mother and Paul considered this sin to be especially shocking and something that 'the nations' would not even engage in. Hence, he was to be 'disfellowshipped'. In 2 Corinthians Paul instructs the congregation to welcome back and 'reaffirm your love' for the sinner so that he is not over-reached by Satan. In essence, he is to be 'reinstated' according to Jehovah's Witness parlance. Here is the 'rub'. Many Bible scholars believe the 1 Corinthians and 2 Corinthians were written in the year AD55. Even the 'Silver Sword' Bible says that both books were written in the same year. So, according to Paul, someone that committed a very serious and vile sin should only be disfellowshipped for a year or less! The modern, time assigned punishment for individual types of sins is NOT a Biblical standard but one instituted by the leaders of Jehovah's Witness and the Watchtower Corporation. Jehovah's Witness leaders have never let the Bible 'get in the way' of their theological construct.
