"Yes , I did serve on the Governing Body for a very short period of time. One day Tight Pants Tony was droning on and on about some inane subject. I turned to him and said, 'Shut the fu@k up! You're driving me Ape Shit' and I walked out, never to return."

In his day, this little kid could probably give more of a 'witness' than the modern day trolley cart tenders.

Is it true? John Denver asks any Witnesses to leave his concert!
by Witness 007 inversion 1. john denver at his concert asks "if there are any jehovah's witnesses in the audience can you please leave.".
version 2. on the johnny carson show he said the same before singing a patriotic song.
johnny carson told denver "see that cameraman there..and that lighting guy...there jehovahs witnesses, alot of witnesses work for me because their honest people..so now you can leave.".

In the mid-'70's I was a Bethelite at Watchtower Farms. A friend of mine and I drove down to Baltimore in my 1969 Chrysler Newport coupe to attend a John Denver concert. I can't speak for anyone else, but at the concert that I attended, John Denver never said any such thing.

Tony Morris Shows Off Engraved Gold Ring with Turquoise Birthstone(?)
by Funchback inthe july jw broadcasting camera zooms in on tony's ring at around the 8:30 mark here:https://tv.jw.org/#en/mediaitems/latestvideos/pub-jwb_201707_1_video.
maybe it's not a big deal.
maybe it is.. in my opinion, it's being kind of flashy.

It looks like a 'signet' ring to me. Perhaps it was once owned by his grandfather Anthony Morris the First, maybe passed down to him by his father and it may hold sentimental value for him. The sight of this man makes me puke, but cut the guy some slack. I wear a 'signet' ring myself.

No go field service days
by Steel init's canada day today and not just any canada day, it's canada's 150 birthday.
for some strange reason i was actually able to reason with my wife day and she agreed with me.
field service on a special day wouldn't be appropriate.

When I was a child, no holiday was off limits. I remember going out in 'field service' on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years day, even if it was snowing! The only holiday that I don't recall going out on was July 4th.

2017 Sunday RC Final Talk & Comments About 1975
by baldeagle inmany of us here have commented on the deceitful friday afternoon video shown at the 2017 rc that discussed 1975.. the video attempted to shift the blame onto congregation members for the fiasco saying, "some were looking to a certain date as signifying the end of this old system of things.".
this same video mentions how, “a few even went so far as selling their homes and quitting their jobs.”.
we all know that the wt leadership created this teaching and endorsed it right up to its abject failure.. now below is the concluding talk given on sunday at the rc.

"They were regarded as truthfully "spiritual models" on how a true JW should act in times "like this". I also recall CO/DC interviewing these "spiritual" models on assemblies, and encourage all others to follow theirs example. I wonder where these people are today?"-Bugbear
My entire family had been interviewed many times at assemblies as a 'model' spiritual family pre-1975 fiasco. Today all but one are inactive! I hope that answers part of your question, Bugbear.

"Ray Harriman was our CO"..........DocBob. Yeah Ray was quite a 'character'. He and I and my girlfriend sat up late a few times and watched Saturday Night Live. He really loved TV for some reason. He tried to strong arm me into pioneering and I would have none of it. After that, he barely spoke to me. My mother used to call him 'Happy Harry' to his face because he acted like such a buffoon lots of times. Under that 'happy go lucky' exterior, he was a real company man.
