so my father, who is an active jehovah’s witness, told me yesterday of an experience currently doing its rounds amongst the witnesses in relation to cart witnessing.
there is a bridge called ‘the bridge’ which is a well known place for people committing suicide.
apparently the jws have been setting up there literature carts there for a while now and ever since they have there has been no more suicide attempts from the bridge.
So let me get this straight:
Jehovah sends his cart workers to a 'suicide' bridge to save lives, while over the years hundreds of Bethelite's have had 'nervous breakdowns' and some of them have committed suicide right under Jehovah's nose at the 'House of God'? Not a very efficient life saving system if you ask me.

it has been reported to the canadian branch that some witnesses doing cart work had police stop them from carting in public parks.
the direction sent to the southern ontario congregations is to cease carting until further notice.. this is no joke.. have a jw-free day..

My Pioneer partner from over 47 years ago had one of these; as did his father and brother. Even though all of Watchtowers publications can be accessed on tablet, he still brings one of these to every meeting. It is full of books but he uses his tablet during the meeting. I believe that it is an Alpha Elder 'status' thing and perhaps he is making up for other male shortcomings.
when people hear the name jehovah instead of thinking about god, they think about a religion or organization.
with all the problems with child abuse and the downhill motion the organization been having.
