  Concealed carry Dubs

  i spent a considerable length of time living and working in america (would love to imigrate one day).. almost everyone i worked with and made friends with carried a concealed firearm of somesort.

  i found this pretty interesting and as an avid firearm fan even more so.. so to our american members here... .

  as a jw did you or did you know any practising dubs who carried or if not had firearms for home defence?

  The Governing Body does not want the rank and file Witnesses to carry hand guns. I think this article is a self evident reason why. I remember Ken Carr as being somewhat of a 'hothead'.

  Should kids learn cursive handwriting?

  i am an elementary school teacher of the fourth grade.

  in times past, students would start learning cursive handwriting in third grade and by fourth should be transitioning to writing in cursive at all times.

  as you might be aware, this has all but been taken out of the curriculum.

  Here is my non-professional opinion:

  I have wondered if giving up cursive writing would be detrimental in the long run for the mental and emotional health of a child and eventually for the maturing adult. Personally, I think it could be disastrous for a child's self-communication skills and ability to communicate with others clearly. When a child learns to form letters cursively, the neuronal connections in the brain for self conversation might strengthen as the child struggles to form the letters correctly and then to create a coherent sentence that will allow them to present their ideas clearly. Also, the effort to form cursive letters seems to take more concentration and could also lead to more a creative skillset than may be possible with just forming the block letters of printing. I personally believe that this is why young people are becoming less and less able to communicate clearly and openly with others; because they are losing the ability for self dialogue. (Of course, technology is also responsible for the inability for some young persons to communicate clearly when in personal conversation.) At any rate, I have talked my theory over with a psychologist, 2 high school teachers and 1 middle school teacher. All of them think that I am on to something but that they have never given the idea any thought. Just my own pet theory and I have no scientific basis for coming to this conclusion. If it were me, I would find time to teach cursive writing as another form of intellectual challenge for the child's developing brain.

  Russia=King of the North, USA=King of the South? New info coming in from Annual Meeting 2018

  it was announced in this year’s annual meeting that they believe that the king of the north is russia and the king of the south is us/britain.

  for me this is the first time hearing from the society actually identifying the identity of the king of the north.

  ok so this is a topic i've pondered and go back and forth on.. i can easily see a point where lawsuits cause massive deficits in the organization.

  honestly i feel like we are seeing the tip of the iceberg in regards to lawsuits on child abuse.

  to me it looks like the property sell offs are to be able to get ready for this.

  I believe that this is the most current research by PEW. (I could be wrong) At any rate, the chart shows that 48% of Jehovah's Witness households income at less than $30,000.00 a year . If this is true, it does not bode well for the religion as a whole.........it could mean that Witness income is dropping over time which would mean less donations for the Governing Body to spend on their pedophile defense fund. (Sorry, I tried to post the chart that this data was taken from but for some reason it will not upload for me.)

  we all know how much the watchtower abhors "higher education" and that apparently jehovah thinks it is a big waste of time.

  at least that is their official stance.

  it might come as a shock to you that this month they have started a campaign drive to actually recruit jws who have higher education, specifically those who have legal training.. with all the law suits against them for creating an environment that is friendly to paedophiles, it is thus no wonder that they are in need of solicitors, especially those who are sympathetic towards the cult.. talk about hypocrisy!.
