  Suffering and existence of God

  many people find it difficult to reconcile suffering and existence of god.

  it seems they feel that it is god’s obligation to shield humans from ill-effects of their short-sighted acts..

  people’s hobby has something to do with this kind of reasoning!

  Are the anointed really "lovely people"?

  i've personally never met any of those who claim to be anointed but the other jw's who have are always unanimous in their praise of how lovely and what wonderful people they are.

  and i don't mean the gb i mean common or garden anointed.

  i was told that when they speak about being in heaven that they almost "seem to glow".. is this right?

  It seems as though many from the first half of the 'overlapping generation' of anointed ones were much more sincere, humble, hard working and kind compared to the second half of the 'overlapping generation' of so-called anointed ones. As a young boy in the early '60's and into my teenaged years in the early '70's I was acquainted with 6 very old members of the so-called 'anointed class'. Gordon Walker and his wife were very old and kind and generous to my mother. Elizabeth 'Bessie' Graham and her aunt were of strong New England stock. They were no-nonsense people and very down to earth and humble. The mother of Russell McPhee, the Circuit Overseer, was a nice, thoughtful person. And Edith Brenneisen , the widow of E.W. Brenneisen was kind and generous to a fault. Of course, my observations were through the eyes of youth and could be distorted by my inexperience. As far as the members of the second half of the 'overlapping generation' are concerned, if the men on the Governing Body (tm) are a reflection of the quality of the current so-called anointed remnant, than what a sad commentary indeed on the state of affairs in 'Jehovah's Organization'.

  You are so right, elbib. Animals are always following the patterns humans set:

  I have a job...my cat has a job.

  I have a bank account...my cat has a bank account.

  I pay my bills...my cat pays her bills.

  I drive a car...my cat drives a car.

  I go on vacation...my cat goes on vacation.

  I phone my brother now and again...my cat phones her relatives now and again.

  I like to read...my cat likes to read.

  Yes, the entire animal kingdom is certainly patterning itself after the behavior of humans.

  These people better hope that if this scenario is true that it won't last very long. Trapped in a basement, where will they get the medications that they have become used to? Elavil, Wellbutrin, Celexa, Anafranil, Pristiq, Sinequan, Cymbalta, Lexapro, Prozac, Luvox, Marplan, Serazone, Pamelor, Paxil, Nardil, Zoloft, Effexor, Atarax, Ativan, Compazine, Valium and Xanax. Never mind prescription medication. How will the Elder calm himself without easy access to Bourbon, Gin, Whiskey, Rum, Vodka, Beer or Wine? What happens if the others find his pornography stash while they are rooting around in his basement? Will he be disqualified from being a substitute Circuit Overseer and have to prove that he hasn't looked at his pornography for about 2 years time? And the middle aged women? How will they cope without being able to gossip endlessly out in service about everyone else in the congregation, since really their own lives are a failure? Two, three, four, five or more weeks in a basement without soap, deodorant, toothpaste, mouthwash, a shower, clean clothes or even any privacy. They better hope that Jehovah's Spirit is real or they are 'screwed'.

  if you have the jw app running on your tablet, watch the latest (may) governing broadcast and hear tony the jackass, and when you get to 7 minutes and 44 seconds ...hit the pause button.. read the words at the bottom of the screen as per the jw app close captioning.. "well beyond the intent of the scriptures" .

  he is describing the governing body past, like the ghost of christmas past.

  What is next? Photos of each Governing Body(tm) member as a baby? "Oh look, boys and girls.............here is a photo of Mark Sanderson as a newborn baby. Someday he will grow up to be a member of the Governing Body(tm) and when he dies he will rule as a KING with Jesus Christ. Is that wonderful!!!"
