  Unless you are high up and indispensable, my experience is that you will get kicked to the curb. When I was there in the 70's, dental care was excellent but the medical care was atrocious. When I spoke to Dr. Roylance about my digestive issues (I had been vacillating between diarrhea, constipation and throwing up) he told me point blank: 'If you don't like the food here at Bethel, you can leave at any time.' It turns out later, (20 years of suffering later) that I have severe gluten intolerance. There was no love or concern shown for the average Bethelite in those days and my suspicion is that things haven't changed much. But that was just my experience..................maybe others have been treated more humanely.

It seems like lots of us here share troubled family backgrounds and our forbearers may have embraced the religion in order to help them 'carry their baggage.'   What age were you when you were counted as a publisher?

  the wts has always included minors and adults in the same categories - publisher and baptized.. i am interested in knowing how many minors, approximately, are included in the publisher count.

  and, at what age a person started publishing.

  My mother told me that I was going from door to door alone in our neighborhood at 4 years old. I don't know exactly when I was counted as a publisher because my mother always made out my time slip when I was little. My guess would be that I was counted as a publisher at around 8 years old. Baptized at 15 on January 30, 1971 at a Circuit Assembly in Nashua, N.H. and the rest, as they say, 'is history'.....................

  New Religion where to look?

  has anyone found any religion that makes more sense than the watchtower organization?

  obviously catholics make even less sense than them so don't say that.... the reason i ask is because i still believe the bible is the word of god, but just that the jw's have twisted it for their own benefit, as most religions seem to do....

  been lurking since early this year.

  there are many of us out there (at least in this area, central u.s.) who are waking up and crossing the line to talk to each other about it.

  in our area, several elders, ministerial servants and pioneers are actively and openly sharing info with each other daily.

  What were the old baptism questions?

  i was baptized in 1981 and i think the questions i was asked at the time are different from the ones they use now.. also, if they are different, when was the change made?.

  Of course, true Christians in the first century never had baptismal questions nor were they required to appear before a service committee, individual elders or any type of ecclesiastical body to prove their faith. Such 'dogma' and requirements were only added later as individual religious denominations needed to make sure that their converted adherents were fully indoctrinated into their belief system and thereby 'qualified' for baptism. All Christian religious systems baptize you into their own particular 'brand'.

  November broadcast makes thier strategy clear.

  thier talk at this summers district conventions about shunning faders was a bit unclear and many said it was pointing out that only jws were to shun wrongdoers not specifically faders.

  this new broadcast makes it now obvious that those who leave the meetings have left jehovah so therefore they are to be shunned as a form of discipline.

  there can be no mistake that they do not want any of thier cult members associating with faders or those that have left the cult.

  What Percentage Of The Governing Body Are Pedofiles?

  the reason i ask this is because we heard reports that greenlees was kicked out of bethel because he was one and then we heard reports that another one, jaracz i believe was one all though it sounds kind of iffy to me.. 2 out of i don't how many total gb seems kind of high so i'm thinking that perhaps the percentage is quite higher as this would explain to a degree why the gb have written in clauses to keep the organization from reporting them to authorities.. it is true that part of the reason they remain silent to authorities is because of the reproach it brings to their precious corporation but i think that is only a small part of the reason and perhaps there might be a bigger reason maybe quite a few have been over powered by their darker side and have engaged in this behavior but because of denial and delusion they will not confess and willingly encourage cover ups.. just speculation i know but i'm starting to think that there is a very dark side to all of these guys hidden by their persona(jungian) that is making them stoop so low as to implement these very bad policies..
