I agree with you Island Man. Jehovah's Witnesses take Jesus words at Matthew 12:30 to the extreme: "He that is not with me is against me.' (K J V). It creates an 'us against them' mentality within the ranks of Jehovah's Witnesses. I think a more elegant solution for the ex-Jehovah's Witness community could be: " He that is not against me is for me." That way, we all could be more open and accepting of each others possibly conflicting viewpoints and learn something from each other. Therefore, we would be united in the one idea that Jehovah's Witnesses are wrong, yet hold differing viewpoints as to why we feel this way without attacking each others viewpoint and motives.

RUSSIA: (5 April 2017) Jehovah's Witnesses hearing under way
by jwleaks inthe trial has begun.
the crowd on the street (see photo) is now inside and the gallery is packed.. yesterday jehovah's witnesses presented a written legal argument - "objections to the administrative claim of the ministry of justice of the russian federation" - to the supreme court of russia which, in paragraph 254, argued that if the ministry for justice liquidates and bans the activities of jehovah's witnesses then this will force individual members to renounce or abandon their religion for fear of persecution.. download legal argument (russian).

I am here to testify in behalf of the worldwide Watchtower Society and Jehovah's Witnesses here in Russia.' - Mark Sanderson

I think all religious leaders are 'sincere' in 'their own eyes'. The template was set when the first human declared that they can 'speak for God'.

They are just as sincere as any other self-righteous, God intoxicated, religiously deluded, power hungry, paternalistic, bible thumping human being. At least that is my opinion.

The Modern Mind
by towerwatchman inwe believe in marx freud and darwin.
we believe everything is ok as long as you don’t hurt anyone to the best of your definition of hurt, and to the best of your knowledge.. we believe in sex before, during, and after marriage.. we believe in the therapy of sin.. we believe that adultery is fun.. we believe that sodomy’s ok.. we believe that taboos are taboo.. we believe that everything’s getting better despite evidence to the contrary.. the evidence must be investigated, and you can prove anything with evidence.. we believe there’s something in horoscopes, ufo’s and bent spoons.. jesus was a good man just like buddha, mohammed, and ourselves.. he was a good moral teacher though we think, his good morals were bad.. we believe that all religions are basically the same-at least the one that we read was.. they all believe in love and goodness.. they only differ on matters of creation, sin, heaven, hell, god, and salvation.. we believe that after death comes the nothing, because when you ask the dead what happens.
they say nothing.. if death is not the end, if the dead have lied, then its compulsory heaven for all excepting perhaps.

Anthony Morris - The Higher Education Broadcast
by pale.emperor inlast night i had jw broadcasting on in the background while i was working, i like to keep up to date with their crap.
which is strange because when i actually was a jw i hated reading or watching their material.. anyway, on the streaming section, anthony morris comes on screen telling me that higher education is bad and "the better the university, the greater the danger".
i never would have believed it if i hadn't seen him say it myself.

How much $$$$ will have been spent on the letter writing campaign to Russia?
by OrphanCrow ini have been following the jw chatter online about the letter writing that has been furiously undertaken by the jws around the world.
a global effort done on the command of the gb in ny.. several jws have mentioned the cost of mailing letters (and packages of letters, where allowed) to russia and the cost is substantial.
some jws have mailed dozens of letters.. the jw boast is that the russian postal system will be overwhelmed with letters.

Watchtower/Bethelite Volunteers and US Self Employment or FICA Tax?
by EnlightenedEphesian inwith so many aging bethelites being "laid off" after years of volunteer service, what hope do they have of collecting any social security retirement?
i ask because i recently learned that my mother will not receive any government retirement benefits because she did not work enough to collect the 40 credits required.
this got me to thinking about bethel volunteers.

I just checked my Social Security online account. 1975 was smack dab in the middle of my Bethel slavery. My account says that I earned $1,069.00 that year! How does Watchtower accounting work? Like Compound Complex, I only received $14.00 plus $6.00 travel a month. I wasn't working a G-job either. Rather suspicious, I think. At any rate, as I posted before, I gave up the religious slavery in 1976 and left Bethel to seek my fame and fortune. I semi-retired at 47 years old and qualify to collect almost the maximum social security available at 66 and 6 months old. The Watchtower Society promised a 'better retirement plan' (the New System) which they didn't have to put a dime into! The corporate religious monster just keeps on existing off the backs of the religiously gullible and naïve. Slavery is the least drain on capital expenditures! Anyone that becomes a Bethelite, automatically participates in a zero sum game and the individual Bethelite is always the loser. The religious/political/spiritual/corporate game known as Jehovah's Witnesses has only one winner. The corporation itself!
