The shit soap they used in the Bethel laundries gave me rashes in my armpits, on my neck and in my crotch. I thought my penis and balls were going to rot off from the harshness of the soap! After the first month, I did my own laundry with my own soap and t eventually everything cleared up. To this day, I double rinse my laundry and iron my own clothes. And yes WingCommander, the Bethel 'system' was constructed to 'break your spirit' or any type of 'independent thinking'. It was Papa Knorr's way or the highway...........take your pick!

on the jw construction situation in the last few years.. first, why did they discontinue the rbc arrangement and institute the ldc arrangement?
was it for more and/or better control?

My father was a complete bum. He drank like a fish and was a bigamist. My mother came from a well to do middle class family. She said that when she was a child during the depression, her family had an automobile, all the gas they needed, a large home with a separate bedroom for her and each of her siblings, a woman that came in and cleaned the house and their groceries were delivered to them from the S.S. Pierce store in Boston 18 miles away. However, all was not 'peaches and cream' for her as she was molested repeatedly by two of her uncles until she was a teenager. At any rate, my mother and father met working in a WW2 production factory. They were oil and water from the start. He was a piece of shit and she was a spoiled/troubled individual. Together, they had six children and finally separated for good in the mid 50's. She moved back in with her parents and took her six children along. As luck would have it, a nice Jehovah's Witness lady called at our home and listened to her issues and promised that Jehovah's New World would take care of all her problems. All she needed to hear was that their would be 'paradise' for her and her children and she was hooked. The rest, as they say, 'is history'.

i am astounded that there are a great deal more jws requesting money than there were a few years ago and even by pioneers.i've only looked in detail at a few jw go fund me requests but came across this one that i am stunned about on a number of levels.. my little maryhello friends.

I don't know if this particular case is real or a scam. However, I know that my nephew and his wife have begged for money on such websites because of health issues. She is morbidly obese and one of the laziest persons you could possibly meet. Yet she had the nerve to 'beg' for money for my nephews hospital expenses, money for car repairs, electrical bill payments and funds to build a ramp and railings for her to access their mobile home. She claims because of 'her health issues' that she can't climb stairs and needs a ramp. I think she should 'pray' a little harder. Jehovah's holy spirit could move someone to leave 4 or 5 bags of groceries on their step that she could consume as a midmorning snack while she watches television. No doubt a case of Twinkies will be gratefully received!

I have a theory about his. Since the printing business is no longer the primary money making scheme of the Watchtower corporation they may be switching financial tactics. My own personal opinion is that they have set up another 'dummy' charitable corporation that receives the funds from the real estate sales. This 'dummy' corporation then invests all the money in index funds , bonds and jumbo 'callable' CD's. The proceeds from the index funds , bonds and CD's is then funneled back to the Mother Corporation (Watchtower Bible and Tract Society) as some sort of charitable 'endowment' that keeps Watchtower 'flush' in operating cash in case congregational donations slow down, while not having to touch their working capital that is churning cash for them in the 'dummy' corporation. Just my own 'pet' theory and two cents.

Jehovah's Witnesses have Apostates to cast their wickedness and sins upon.
Hence modern day Apostates are the scapegoat for Jehovah's Witnesses. Anything that Witnesses don't want to face, own up to or recognize as true and real is thrust upon the modern day Goat of Azazel (Apostates) and the goat is cast out from the camp( the modern day congregation). It's an easy 'fix' for simple minded dullards that are intoxicated with the religious pontifications of the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses.

Yes its true. One poor brother was working on the Murray Hill kingdom hall and someone walked up to him and stabbed him to death. I think this was in the early Spring of 1974 if I remember correctly. But that doesn't even include those who died because of improper care in the Bethel Infirmary. Frank Lewis (now long dead I believe) has blood on his hands from improper medical 'diagnosis' and treatment or more truthfully the lack of proper medical treatment by a 'real' doctor.

the governing body was unusually silent (in public) about issues of this nature except to pontificate in print in the most general terms.
jw's didn't fight in wars because we were neutral.

This is really BIG news, Terry. I am afraid that it will go unnoticed by anyone under 60 years old. Since the average male Witness alive today has never been before a draft board this will be 'just a blip on the radar' for them. However, my brother lived during the 'thick of things' like you did and I was on the tail end of it having received a 4-D classification since I was pioneering.
I am physically sickened by this. In the hall I used to attend there is an Elder who was in the Vietnam War before he became a Witness. He is now a Pioneer and during his last 2 shepherding visits with me he brags that Jehovah is his 'Boss' and he is 'paid by the Government' (He gets Social Security, a small military pension, free healthcare and a CASH settlement for Agent Orange exposure). Meanwhile, Terry Walstrom and others like him do what is required of them as loyal Jehovah's Witnesses and they gets 'the shit end of the stick' and now, no one gives a rat's ass about their loyalty because they dare to speak against Jehovah's 'channel'. The Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses since it's inception has had 'blood on it's hands' and we need to keep calling them out on their evil and ever changing dogma.
