I remember in the '60's and '70's that meetings were rarely canceled. My family traveled over 30 miles one way to the Sunday and Thursday night meetings. We routinely traveled in blizzard conditions that most Witnesses today would not dare to venture out in. Our lives were put in danger because of the promises of 1975!

Did You Go To Meetings in Very Inclement Weather?
by minimus inliving in new england means having lots of snow and cold.
elders were very reluctant to cancel or reschedule a meeting due to the weather.
i lived 3 towns away from the kingdom hall and if it was icy and treacherous my vote would always be to cancel the meeting....and forget about rescheduling!.

Is Happiness Without Religion Possible?
by Brian J inaccording to the 11/2017 study watchtower.......apparently not.
is it really true that one can be happy without religion?
certainly an individual can be happy without false religion, but a person cannot be truly happy unless he has a relationship with jehovah, who is described as “the happy god.” (1 tim.

"So, religious people (at least in the United States and other religious countries) are happier on average than non-religious people. But, the key variable does not appear to be religion itself. Instead, it is the social connections that religious life facilitates that make people happy." - Clay Routledge Ph.D. Are Religious People Happier Than Non-Religious People?
As usual, sweeping assertions made by the Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses are not backed up by the empirical evidence.

"Yep, definitely an argument from authority fallacy" - Island Man

In the 1960's my uncle was a Lt. Colonel in the Air Force Strategic Command in charge of a number of ICBM missile silos and security officer for his base. My brother asked him two questions shortly before he died.
1. Did aliens crash at Roswell and are there any remains of a ship or any life form? Answer: NO
2. Did we really land men on the moon? Answer: YES
I'll have to accept my Uncles answers over and above anything that conspiracy theorists have to offer.

Maybe this is what you are looking for, cobweb:
"Although a person may find emotional satisfaction with the Pentecostal movement and may be impressed with what are regarded as manifestations of God's spirit, they should remember that Scriptural truth is more important than a religious emotional experience."-The Watchtower February 1, 1964 page 91 in the article Religion With a Swing The Pentecostal Way.

Hey Atomant..........why don't you discuss your findings with Buzz Aldrin? Even though he is 87 years old, he would knock you flat on your ass for making such a stupid assertion. Look for the video on YouTube of Bart Sibrel telling Aldrin that the moon landing was a hoax. It is really quite funny when he punches Sibrel in the head.

Wow..........a foretaste of the 'New System' where man and beast will live in harmony! This is beautiful and I think that I will return to Jehovah so I can experience this for myself.
