"Honest brothers...............she's a full time pioneer. We are going to get engaged and hope to marry soon and stay on in Bethel service!"

"Was is as GOOD for you as it was for me....................?"
rolf foruli, scandinavian academic and watchtower apologist, has come out with a video at times quoting figures on mental disease from the 1930's and 40's, in support of his allegation that the rate of mental problems and depression is actually only a third of what it is among the entire population.. there are numerous holes in his presentation.
for one, when jw's are da'ed or df'ed they're no longer considered jw's and only active jw's are part of the results.
those who were victimized and suffered the most mental trauma as jw's aren't even considered in the studies he mentions.. watch his video: "the mental health of jehovah´s witnesses" r. furuli, on youtube:.
This man is not even smart enough to be ashamed of himself. Sending out a survey for the congregation elders to make an assessment of individual witnesses mental health is not a 'scientific study'. It is the gathering of anecdotal judgments made by the elders in individual congregations based on their cursory observations of their fellow congregants. Even a 'self reported' survey by the individual publishers would be a more accurate assessment (Though it would still not be a 'scientific study'). The words charlatan and fraud come to mind for me after watching this video.
i live in a very rural part of the northeastern united states.
after 9 years of waiting, the local witnesses are getting their new kingdom hall.
it is being built on a back road next to a sandpit.
Here we go again................!
I just stepped outside to make a delivery at work and this conversation happened:
After some political talk about Trump etc.,.........
Kevin: What is that new building on the back road? Is that a Jehovah Witness church?
Sparky: Well...yes it is.
Kevin: It certainly doesn't look like a church. It looks like a warehouse. Not a very attractive building at all.
Keep it up, Governing Body of Jehovah's Witnesses. You seem to be alienating the public on more and more levels.
we were having this discussion in the office the other day and we came to the conclusion minimum wage is better because it still adds to the economy vs minimum income which someone could potentially stay at home and do nothing and still get paid without producing a thing for the greater economy.. thoughts?.
1. Universal basic income for everybody.....from the poorest to the wealthiest.
2. No more welfare in any form. Abolish food stamps, fuel assistance, rental assistance, etc.
3. Close all welfare offices and make those people get a regular job.
4. No minimum wage. The hard workers and the aggressive people will rise to the top.
5. No more income tax. The current income tax system is a penalty system. The harder you work, the more you pay.
6. Base taxation on a National sales tax of 20% and a State sales tax of between 12.5% and 17.5%. The more money a person has, the more that they will spend. This will move our government (USA) from taxing our personal production to taxing our consumption. Both production and consumption should (theoretically) increase.
much has been said about “fake news”.
regarding the witnesses, they would always ask, “ did you hear the latest”?.
since the witnesses claim to have the “truth”, can you express anything that turned out to be truly “fake news”?
Finkelstein is correct. Jehovah's Witnesses have had their share of fake news. It was entitled KINGDOM NEWS. I placed lots of them back in the '70's.

"The Governing Body is NOT dogmatic!"
i have been meeting with member's of the kingdom hall, and i have attended a few times now on sundays.
i'd like to discuss experiences with this group since i'm new.
so far, i love it.
"New to the truth." - MatthewHewey
I would feel more comfortable if you made the statement in plain English and not cult speak:
'I am new to the Jehovah's Witness religion' would seem to be more appropriate.
given the proliferation of websites, youtube channels, books and other forms of media attention focusing on the extreme policies, teachings and scandals of the watchtower bible and tract society; where does this now leave the governing body's credibility?.
CREDIBILITY: 1. the quality or power of inspiring belief.
2. capacity for belief. - Merriam Webster Online Dictionary
They never had any credibility to begin with, except with the adherents of the Jehovah's Witness religion. No one else really takes notice or cares.
i am looking for the book the harp of god.
i am told it has some crazy passages in it.
can anyone put up some quotes of the book?
"I am told it has some crazy passages in it." - blownaway
The craziest one of all is on the title page of the 1921 edition:
"This generation shall by no means pass away until all these things occur."
