I just checked the IRS charitable organization website! This is the first time they have begun posting tax returns on charitable organizations. For the fiscal year 2016 they reported $1,590,239,000! in assets. LV101, for tax purposes, Watchtower of NY is the 'umbrella' or group corporation used to file tax returns for all the US corporations. So this amount is total for all US corporate assets. THIS IS INCREDIBLE!

If my memory serves me correctly, we rarely if ever had soup at Bethel. I also worked as a substitute waiter at Bethel and had access to the kitchen and food preparation area. Never did I see any Knorr products in the food store rooms. If you have knowledge of your claim, I would like to see it.

According to the PROCLAIMERS book, on page 91 it states: "On September 6, 1923, Brother Knorr became a member of the Bethel family in Brooklyn." That would make him 18 years old when he started his Bethel service and so he would no longer be living in his parents home. If you have evidence to the contrary, that would be interesting to see!

I was a Bethelite in the mid 70's. 1974, 1975 and 1976. I was somewhat friendly with Sam Van Sipma who was one of the assistant editors of Consolation and Golden Age. I did not know Knorr personally but ran into him on occasion. I picked up bits and pieces of gossip from friends of his wife, too.
