So the old boy turned 80 and it was time for his annual physical. Because he was 'deaf as a post' , his wife always accompanied him to the doctors office. After checking his weight, height, blood pressure, lungs, prostate and other assorted issues, the doctor needed more information. He told the old boy, "I'm going to need a blood sample, a stool sample, a urine sample, and a sperm sample." "WHAT DID HE SAY?" the old boy enquired of his wife. Calmly, the doctor repeated his request. "WHAT DID HE SAY?" asked the old gent of his wife again. She calmly and firmly reiterated the doctors orders "WHAT? WHAT? WHAT THE HELL DOES THE DOCTOR WANT?" yelled the old codger. By this time the wife was fully exasperated and she bellowed out to him : "HE WANTS YOU TO LEAVE YOUR DIRTY UNDERWEAR FOR HIM TO EXAMINE BEFORE WE GO!"

I see on the SCAARS home page that you are accepting donations. Will you be making credit card donation arrangements in the near future for the sake of convenience for those of us who wish to donate?

Are the G.B.members really good business people ?
by smiddy3 inif i was an author of a book i think i would be over the moon if i was guaranteed a sale of around 5 million or more books for my work.. the jehovah`s witnesses have over 8 million members plus relatives that are fringe dwellers who come to the memorial once a year ,.
so what a gold mine they have been sitting on as a publishing house .. why didn`t they keep publishing books for the faithful ,they could have even upped the price , and the faithful would have paid especially in prosperous country`s in the west.. they could have milked this venture for years to come as the faithful would have bought anything they would have published .. and their prophets (profits) would have soared ,literally and figuratively for many more years to come ..

Many Jehovah's Witness Leaders and Followers Customize Their Religion to Suit Their Needs
by new boy inafter observing my jehovah's witness friends and family members for over 50 years it became apparent that the vast majority of "the brothers and sisters" pick and choose the rules and laws that their church/organization what them to follow.. tough the society may state these admonitions as definite "do's and don'ts" many of the church followers put these admonitions in the the "grey zone.".
the reason being jehovah will give them special dispensation.
yes, for some odd reason jehovah will cut these people some slack for the same things he must punish others for.

You have described my god intoxicated, spiritually deluded, and religiously fanatical dyed in the wool Jehovah's Witness mother. She would run to the Elders about the slightest matter concerning others in the hall and gossiped about everyone constantly. However, she didn't have the slightest qualms about getting drunk, lying, going to R-rated movies, attending her own 'worldly' class reunions, hiding cigarettes under her mattress, not filing income taxes, lying on her monthly time report, not paying her bills on time, constantly late on our property tax payments, and a number of other assorted sins and misdemeanors. Yet, she was considered a pillar of our circuit! Many, many Jehovah's Witnesses have two faces. One public one for the congregation and one private one for their family. Ezekiel 8:12 comes to mind: 'They say to themselves, The Lord cannot see us.' (As you can tell, I still have some 'mommy issues')

'Serving where the need is greater' - who does it benefit?
by eyeslice2 inwe have recently been in asia on vacation, travelling to a number of countries in this part of the world.
whilst in thailand, my wife, totally pimo, wanted to go to the english speaking convention in bangkok.
although i haven't been active for a very long time, i went along with her.. the first thing that slightly surprised me was the attendance, well over 900. i hadn't expected that many but they were from all over the country, which is a pretty big place.

My brother is shunning me (but he's not a Witness)
by john.prestor ini didn't know where to post this but it's been on my mind and i'm looking for support and advice from people who know what it's like being shunned.
i was raised in a fundamentalist baptist church, so what i'm experiencing is a little different than most posters on this site.
i've been out of that church for years, and my brother's been out for a while too.
