Last nites show gave me the impression that the magnetic field has collected these survivors, 2 of which we now know to have been healed, could be more than that have! All of their "checkerd" pasts, maybe? And, does anyone else think "Henry" might be the top man of the others? And I'm a bit concerned about Michael being gone so long, then returning and in the next episode trying to convince them that they can be taken?/ He'll do ANYTHING to protect Walt--right?
Hmmmm............

A question on " 1975 "
by The ini was reading some of the first " topics " on this db and i noticed that a few former elders and publishers .
were stumbled by this date.... i was born after 1975 and i'd really appreciate any comments from brothers and sisters who were around .
what i've noticed from personal experience is that many brothers and sisters feel that only " a few " were stumbeled .

I was baptised in '73 after studying in that book, the "truth" book as it was called, and I personally knew a lot of people going in debt, spending money for things they would never be able to pay for because they believed they wouldn't have to!! And that wasn't limited to the general congregation, elders were guilty of doing the same!!
It always was something that nagged in the back of my mind about not putting importance in dates, something the witnesses are very guilty of, and at the same time preaching that it was wrong to do it !!!

reading those lyrics, wow! you are right, paints a sad picture of the attitude some witnesses, it truely is a Town Without pity!!
As a child of the 60's, it saddens me to learn of his death!! what a voice!! Our local oldies radio station recently switched the oldie catagory from 50's and 60's to 70's and 80's, i was busy being a witness and raising my family and cannot relate with that era, I miss hearing Gene, Roy, 4-seasons,Bobby Vinton, can't name them all, but it was a great time to be a teen
You will be missed, Gene!!

He always seemed to be a stable kind of person to me.. And I am not sure about their captive....other or not other? maybe he escaped them, but, more than likely he is a spy!!

Hi
by UNCLEAR inthis obviously is my first post, i actually feel like i may be sick but i felt compelled to post.
only if to just say hello.. my life has been anything but boring, pioneered for years, brought several family members into "the truth", and find myself unable to have studies anylonger because i feel unsure about the stand i have taken all these years.. i was previously married, my husband left the organization for various reason, we divorced and i recently remarried another brother, he is a wonderful man and husband, i care for him deeply we and had been friends for 15 years.
i also have a son from my first marriage who is 4, he is the love of my life, recently my son had an opertion that could require a blook transfusion and to be honest i could never deny him that.

Hi back to ya!! I, too, am very new to this site, and what i have seen so far is that there are a whole lot of people that have gone thru, basically the same things we have, its great to have a place where we have so much in common and we can talk freely about our feelings--try doing this on any other site!! my story is under"where do i start" and there are so many others you can compare notes with that will help you know what the right thing for you is!!
as for the "truth" I recently told a witness whom i had known for a long time my reason for never going back--how can there even be a true religion at this time -- satan would be right there and it would be controlled by him--why take the chance?? ever heard the old saying--if in doubt throw it out?? looking forward to hearing more from ya, bonnie

I've wondered that same thing!! I haven't missed any of the shows, and unless i fell asleep, I haven't seen anything about him!!
I watched the repeat of Lost last nite to see if I missed anything, I wonder if Locke will show everyone else the map, he tends to keep things to himself quite a bit.

The "Memorial" Is A Perversion Of Christ's Intent
by metatron init is remarkable how 6 million witnesses ( or is it 'witlesses'?
) can go thru the yearly ritual of the "memorial" without any of their.
brain cells moving them towards understanding what a sad, unchristian perversion it is.. what part of "do this in remembrance of me" is so hard to understand?

this is great!! in all my 30 yrs. of being held captive by what?? not sure now, i always felt odd about the ones who some how KNEW they were to partake! reminds me of a church i TRIED to attend, and some of the people were speaking in the spirit--so fake!! Same thing, some kind of need to be accepted , or looked up to, humbly, of course. And why, if Revelation is symbolyic, isn't that number !!
i took a friend with me one year, not long before my "awakening" and watched her during the whole thing, she tried to understand, but she just shook her head !! made me wonder what she saw that i didn't!! And i became very aggitated when one of the "sisters" pounced on my confused friend practically demanding a study with her!! I couldn't wait to get outside and appologise to my friend, I felt ashamed!! How rude!!
