  Incredible Irony...

  it is perhaps one of the greatest ironies i will ever witness in my life.

  more than all other religions i know, jehovahs witnesses ardently emphasize the need to flee from idolatry.

  no crosses, no holidays, no national emblems dont hang posters of pop culture icons, dont emulate worldly athletes or celebrities jehovahs witnesses are intensely concerned about committing idolatry, but they cannot see that their devotion to the watchtower society is as idolatrous as a thing could be.

  Good catch Confession.

  The way the sentence is phrased could allow a JW to reason there is no deviation from scripture in the statement. The earthly org is Jehovah's org, the creator of Jesus. In addition, Jesus is the head of this earthly org, so worshipping JW's are actually submitting to Jesus headship by following the direction of Jehovah's earthly org.

  So far I am...don't know how long though.

  I've meet with elders 3 times now. I've told them everything (almost everything, obviously). I suspect they will want to visit again.

  You see, we mutually missed about 2 weeks of meetings. Then we go for a week. Now we have mutually missed 9 in a row. Tonight we had a beer and went out on the town instead of meeting!

  What is the most objectionable thing you have heard off the platform?

  i know many have quoted ridiculous statements from the assemblies etc., i just wonder what irked you most off of the platform in your own kh.. the one that sticks out in my mind was when we had a guest speaker on a sunday for the public talk.

  i don't remember the theme but his main point was the starving people in africa did not need food.

  he stated they needed spiritual food and would opt for that over a meal because they realize they could eat in the new order and there was no need to send any donations directly.

  I posted this a while ago, but let me do it again.

  During the C.O.'s visit, he said, from the platform, that there was an area in Ohio where the brothers had not been able to preach because of the drug dealing, prostitution etc.

  He said the city got tired of it and decided to clean it up by getting "the blacks" out of the neighborhood.

  I thought "I can't believe he said that". I looked at one of the black sisters in our cong. and I'm thinking "I wonder what she's feeling".

  That is amazing. I think I would be tempted to gather my things and walk out right then.

  you are only an invisible observer.

  you cannot interact with people or the surroundings at all and will remain unaffected by the experience.

  history will not notice you.. so, do you choose to be present 3 hours before and after the big bang!?
