  i just got a visit from my jdub cousin.

  not seen him for a year or so.. anyway he's telling me that he's selling his house (his first place bought 2 years ago) as the society are telling them all that the end is in sight sooner than they think!

  and he said that he's gonna go part time at work cos he loves the aux pioneering he did last month!!!

  I just got a visit from my JDub cousin. Not seen him for a year or so.

  Anyway he's telling me that he's selling his house (his first place bought 2 years ago) as the Society are telling them all that the end is in sight sooner than they think! And he said that he's gonna go part time at work cos he loves the Aux pioneering he did last month!!!

  It drives me mad. He saved hard for the deposit on that house, and he's gonna live back with his parents! All cos the 'Society' say that the end is coming soon.

  He said that there is a new publication out soon too. I'll try and get him to give me a copy when its released.......to light my Aga with!

  What is your town or area's claim to fame?

  every where you live, the local area has something about it that is either famous for something good or something bad.

  as an example, you go to one town and it may have the historial site of a famous war battle.

  you go to another an it might be the place something was invented, or the birthplace of someone famous.

  Well, i'm from Oxford and i guess its famous for its Colleges and the University.

  Funnily enough Fe2O3Girl, my great grandfather (or something like that!) used to own a little shop located opposite Christ Church College, and apparently Carroll wrote about it in his stories.

  Ongoing Saga; Privacy Commission, WTS and my attempt to get personal files

  i posted a while ago that i had asked the aust bethel for my personal records under the privacy act 1988. bethel refused.

  i then lodged a complaint with the privacy commission.

  bethel signed a stat dec that they are not covered by the privacy act, and so the case was closed.

  Hi, I'm from the Uk and am interested in getting any personal files that the Society have on me.

  Does anyone know which Act or law i can use to get them from them? How about the Freedom of Information or the Data Protection Act?

  Your help would be much appreciated.

  hi my name is alex and i was born in the truth and...i'm still in it.......i'm 15 and openly gay well at least at schooland to all my friends some who are also jw's well the reason for posting this is i wanted to knw if there were any other gay people here......if anyone wants to email me its [email protected].

  i want like advice on how i should deal with this cause sometimes i feel this oppression(dont knw if i spelled that right) on being gay and also being a j.w theres this i'm not sure how to explain it....like you knw that when people in your congregation find out the ones you know all ur life are going to hate u cause ur gay............this i guess just makes me feel really sad........ kind of hoping that this made some sorta sence.................... i suck at spelling so if i miss spelled something sorry@_@

  hey,

  I'm gay, have been all my life, and i know what you're going through.

  I was brought up in the 'truth' also, and realised at about 15 years of age that i was gay. i found it really hard coming to terms with it, after what we were taught at the meetings.

  I managed to leave home at 18 and move to London and made a new life for myself. I came out to my parents a few years later, after getting really down from living a double life. Thats the thing that got me, the leading a double life with my parents not knowing. Thought they would go mental about it, and although they weren;t happy, they said they wanted me to be happy. Kinda cool coming from a P.O really!!!!

  I've finally met the man of my dreams and am getting a Civil Partnership in June.

  Anyway, i guess i'm trying to say that there is hope. It may take a while to get yourself in a position to leave the Borg, but its worth the wait. Just don;t do anything to hastily in the mean time. Unless you already have, don't get baptised!!!!
