Harold Camping said that 2011 would be a significant year. He was right. Wikipedia turned ten that year. -

WAKING UP A DUB : effective communication
by Terry inwords that motivate.
our communication has to pass through the mind of another human being and survive what his or her mind is going to do with it!.
wordsby themselveshave to motivate the listener in the same way a combination lock will open if the correct numbers are dialed in exactly the correct sequence.

Why don't they just lie about the numbers?
by Sour Grapes inwhy doesn't the wtbts just lie and increase the published amount of people who attend the memorial?
who would know the difference?
the same with the amount munching on the crackers and sipping the wine.

Because they don't have a way to accurately predict how much longer the world has, it would be difficult to calculate a believable rate of decline. I suppose they could drop it by one or two every year, just to give themselves plenty of leeway. But eventually they'd have to drop the number below what is believable, because there are CO's and others who have an idea of how many there are in their area, and if someone did a rough calculation, they'd eventually see that there are in fact more claiming to be anointed than the society is showing. -

It's a marketing ploy.
Sure makes the preaching work out to be a whole lot more fun and interesting than it really is.

Would a Class Action Lawsuit against Watchtower work - Breach of Privacy?
by Tazemanian-devil inthe branch manual reveals the following:.
chapter 3., par 62 data protection policy, section c: if a data subject request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal data or sensitive personal data about himself, the organization will fairly consider granting the request by balancing the interests of the individual in gaining access or correcting or deleting data against the legitimate religious interests of the organization, including whether granting the request would endanger the organization's right to religious freedom and practice."d.
"the organization has an interest in permanently maintaining data regarding an individual's status as one of jehovah's witnesses.

d. "The organization has an interest in permanently maintaining data regarding an individual's status as one of Jehovah's Witnesses. Deleting such information would unduly infringe on the organization's religious beliefs and practices."Correct me if I'm wrong, but they do not disclose the fact that intimate details about judicial matters are view-able by other elders who were not on your committee, by the C.O., and are sent to the branch to be read by other complete strangers. In addition, their IT staff has access to this data as well. None of these people are authorized by the individual to view their personal private details, and no contracts are ever signed implying that WT has the right to disclose this information to these people.
Could this be grounds for a class action lawsuit? Any joker with a tie or holding a broom can probably walk into one of those offices and come across details of your personal private matters lying on someones desk.
They also do not let you view these materials, nor will they delete them citing religious freedom.
What do you think?

So, I became very ill ... what did my loving brothers do?
by EdenOne inrecently i have fallen ill with a serious case of chickenpox (shingles).
three weeks down, high fevers, and the blisters attacked mostly my scalp and face, but then also my whole upper body.
i looked horrid, truly like a mutant monster out of a nuclear disaster.

I feel for you man. Whenever my wife tells me so-and-so said to say hi, or ask me how I am, I always respond "They have my phone number, don't they?"
To which she just laughs, and changes the subject.
These poor people simply do not have the capacity for compassion. Their brains have been washed clean of any substantial emotion.
Hang in there, glad you're feeling better.

but it's all quiet here.
are you guys aware that your hero, who was not in it for the money but to change policies, settled without changing anything?

"Your hero".
You mean the victim of a heinous crime is being grossly under compensated for the physical, emotional, and spiritual damage done to a young child leaving indelible scars?
But guess what, you say she had no effect, however you're talking about it...

Hold Me, Thrill Me,
We're not just talking about a few animals dying of natural causes here. How many animals were supposedly sacrificed on a daily basis, for over 2 million people, over a 40 year period? Millions? More?
Just the daily lamb slaughter by the priest would have amounted to over 40,000 lambs slaughtered.
This doesn't include sin offering. How often did 2 million + people make individual sin offerings? Daily? Weekly? Monthly? Say 500,000 are children. That's 1.5 million people making a sin offering at least once a month. 16 million animals varying from bulls to pigeons killed yearly.
This doesn't include voluntary offerings.
Seems like a lot of animals to dispose of in such a dry climate with nothing to show for it.
