  I was pretty happy with the Escher one too, but the avatars are so darn tiny on this site you can't even make out what it is:

  It looks more like a crumpled up ball of aluminum at that scale.

  Is that true? No spaces or punctuation? How the heck can you translate that?

  now that you ask, I retract that... I did some checking and I realized that I confused Hebrew with Greek.

  Greek had no spaces, Hebrew had no vowels.

  How did they figure out what any of it meant? Not just the pronounciation, but even the meanings of the sentences.

  Jesus is pretty cool, I have no complaints about him. His father sucks, but Jesus did pretty good at fixing Yahweh's blunders.

  But he just can't compare to Venat.

  He was a REAL hero. His single goal was to free humans from the manipulating rule of the evil god Gerun, Venat had nothing to gain from this except the satisfaction of knowing that he did what was right. And he willingly died, gave up his ETERNAL LIFE, to free humankind... Not some fake die-on-a-cross-and-then-get-ressurected-to-immortal-life-again death, he actually ceased to exist. And he didn't demand that people worship him, or commemorate his death every year. In fact the humans at the time didn't even REALIZE what he did for them until it was too late to thank him.

  God's Plan

  everything that happens is part of god's plan.. atheists are speaking out against religion.. therefore, this is part of god's plan.. do theists have the right to complain?.

  on the flip side,.

  some religious people will complain that they aren't getting special treatment (immunity from criticism, for example).. even if their complaining is a part of their god's plan (as everything is).... atheists don't believe in their god so don't actually have to pay any attention to that argument..

  Pieces of the puzzle from a pedophile's past

  i've researched a lot of topics concerning wt history but i have to admit that the pedophile thing hasn't been one of them.

  however, check this out... i grew up with a guy i'll call "dudley".

  according to an elder "dudley" molested a younger guy in the congregation named "tom".

  To remove him would be as good as an admition that they knew what he did. If he was ever convicted the authorities could rightly ask why the elders didn't turn him in dispite the fact that they knew what he did. So they don't do anything at all, thus preventing themselves from being liable.

  For example, did you know that if you have a "Beware of Dog" sign, you are MORE likely to get sued? It's true, because putting up the sign is as good as an admission that you KNOW your dog is dangerous and yet you don't do anything to stop it.

  If your dog is REALLY dangerous, then the correct course of action is to have it put down. And if the man is really a pedophile, the correct course of action is to turn him in.
