  man they used to come up with some corny topics, and even worse covers.

  it made an already unbearable task even worse.

  the top of the crap pile for me was trying to place a magazine entitled the salty drink that saves lives.

  we are both third generation witnesses and raised in the "lie".

  we raised our kids in it also.

  seems that the page view out number the posters who actually reply to the thread.. my guess is that there's alot of active jws who are still active within' the so called "truth" are visiting this forum and reading all the threads.

  i don't blame them for not wanting to reply for fear of being found out.. how many of you were still active when you found a forum like this one and lurked around for a long time?

  how many of you left the organization as a result of reading this forum or other forums like it?.

  I don't believe that it was Jehovah who caused Russell to believe in pyramids. As I said before this was a popular concept at the time. -----Jonadab

  Jonadab, I don't know that it was Jehovah that caused Russell to believe in pyramids, but if Russell was directed by Jehovah, certainly Jehovah would have directed Russell away from teaching a false belief. Isn't this what is supposed to set God's organization apart from false religion, no false teachings ? Are you implying that God would allow his organization to teach what is false ? If so, then how was this any different than false religions? I added this question, too late, to my earlier post so I will ask it here: Would spreading the belief that the world would end at a certain date based on the measurements of a pyramid be considered false prophesying ?

  As for this being a "popular concept" at the time, how is that relevant with God's earthly organization believing and teaching it ? And I personally have never heard of the "false" religions teaching about pyramids at that time or any time. Who or what other group based its teachings on pyramids at that time ?

  Jonadab, this is getting to be "I'll convince you, or you'll convince me." We both know neither will happen. I feel in my heart that the JWs are not right. Perhaps in this life you are to believe that they are. Does that make either one of us evil ? I think not. Perhaps we are on separate paths to experience separate things. Who is to say. You say:

  May I respectfully disagree. If were not meant 'to get knowledge of the times' then why does the Bible have so much chronology attached to its prophecies? Why did Jesus give his disciples such a detailed sign of his future presence? Why was Daniel given the information regarding the appearance of the Messiah in his 70 weeks of years prophecy? Why give all this information if we were never supposed to know the answers?

  Then, why was the original scripture cited? JWs claim "in this generation" means "in this generation," yet they twist the scriptures in other places to suit their "light." Sorry Jonadab, I don't buy it. If you want to know why "the Bible has so much chronology attached to its prophecies," yet says its not for us to know, well you'll have to ask the writers of the Bible for explanation.

  As for Revelations, no, I was not pulling your chain. And I do not put any faith in the WTS interpretation of the scriptures. The Bible says" the great crowd in heaven." I don't take that to mean a different "great crowd in heaven" because the WTS 's literature says it is a "different great crowd." The WTS says whatever to go along with its current belief. The WTS writers, nor any other writers, are my Gods.

  Jonadab, you said you weren't here to debate. And believe me I'm not either. I've heard enough debating concerning the "truth" to last me a lifetime. You wish there were one thing you could say to stir my mind., and vice versa. But there is not. We see things as we are ready to. One question though Jonadab. How in the world can you truly believe that Jehovah had Russell and co. believe in pyramids, only to later have them abandon the belief? This is not brighter life, this is changing color bulbs ! People died following this belief. For what purpose ? And if it happened then, and again, and again, and again, well, as my mother said, "fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, shame on me."

  JW causing more grief over my Dad's death Sat.

  my jw sister is causing problems with my dad's death this past saturday..she is down in florida, where my parents live, went there on a pleasure trip to begin with, then our dad passed (as i wrote) unexpectedly..now, she is pressuring my mom to have a viewing and a 'talk' by some jw's and my mom does not want this..my sister is one of those 'double life' jw's..she says unkind things about me behind my back, re: my illness(as my mom has told me), but she has been 'engaged' for 4 yrs.to a 'worldly guy' and we all know they sleep together, etc.,then she turns around and acts like she's miss spirituality..for her to do what she's doing now, well i don't know what to do..i want my mom and dad's wishes to be #1, and for her to try and pressure my mom into a service, also without giving me a chance to be there, well i'm not feeling too good at this point..thank you all so much for your replies, e-mails and love..don't know what i would do without you guys.
