  War on "false religion"?

  this is something that was never entirely clear to me, but practically no interpretation of it makes any sense.

  as i recall, the jws have some interpretation of the revelation accounts, or possibly one of the other cryptic visions, involving beasts and world governments that predicted that the united states government (or maybe it was the un?

  ) was going to one day wake up to the truth and declare war on false religion (babylon the great).

  Your first "worldly" heroes?

  one of the first things that i realized after i left the organization was that i could actually have human heroes who weren't bible characters.

  now this will give you an idea of how much of a nerd i am, but the first person i began to idolize as a 17-18 year old teenager was richard p. feynman, the mid 20th century theoretical physicist.

  of course, now i'm on my way to becoming a physicist myself, although i'm going into the experimental side instead of theory.

  A New Voice

  i haven't been involved with the jws in nearly five years now.

  i was raised as a witness from the time i was seven until i was 17 and a junior in high school.

  i don't have any particularly sad stories to tell, really, except that the process of leaving the organization--even though i was never baptised--was the hardest thing i've ever gone through.
